Who gives you your injections?

Are you doing them yourself or is DH/SO doing them? I did the first ones because he was out of town, but I've been having him do them since then.

After night 2 I just had DH do them. I had to much anxiety and he was cool to be part of it. He knows he is on duty for IVF#2 for all injections.

    Multiple ectopics, 2 failed IVF's
IVF #1: Did not get to ET, embies all failed PGD (major chromosomal defects)
IVF #2: We have 2 chromosomally perfect embies as a result of PGD (Boy/Girl) 1 failed the thaw (Girl) Transferred 1, yet ended as a c/p

it also helps him feel more involved in the whole process of getting me KU.  i told him it was not a spectator sport.  he has been way more connected since he started doing it.

I do them. DH and I went to the RE before starting injections. The way my DH held the needle and was handling it scared me even worse. Plus he's not home every night so I cannot depend on him to do it.

DH does them.  I tend to hesitate too much.  He has always done an excellent job with the exception of my first Menopur injection this cycle which hit a blood vessel.  You can STILL see a yellow bruise from it and that was on February 2nd!

I tried a few in the beginning of stimming but then DH did all the rest. It got done quicker that way, while it took me "forever" to do each one! The daily PIO injections though, I haven't been able to do one myself. Not sure if I want to attempt it either.

This!  He was going to do them but the first night he freaked and told me it was going to hurt really bad.  I grabbed the needle from him and have never looked back.  I don't have any issues with needles so it's easy.

I do them all, because we weren't sure if he'd be out of town or whatever else. It's kind of surreal. Some days it was no issue and others it was mentally difficult. I don't know why, because they are so painless.

He does love mixing the trigger though. He does what he can to be involved, save the shots themselves.

I do the lupron/stims, and MH does the PIO.  Prior to IVF, I've fainted with almost every immunization or blood draw I've had; therefore, I NEVER thought I'd be able to do them myself.  MH works most nights, so I started doing them myself out of necessity.  As MitziBishi referenced, they haven't always been easy mentally -- but, for the most part, it's been a breeze.  At this point, I'd probably never feel comfortable having someone else do my lupron or stim shots.  We 'joke' that IVF might not get me a baby, but it seems to have gotten me over my needle fainting.

The trigger and PIO are a different story -- I'm still a huge wimp (I fully expect that I might have to suck it up at some point and do my own IM one of these days, not looking forward to it!).

DH has done all of mine -- I actually haven't given myself a single shot.  I vaccinate all of my own animals (goats, sheep, chickens) so I'm pretty good with a sub-Q needle.  But I just like him being involved in the process in some way -- kind of feel like it's the least he can do!

We are pretty much always together in the evenings, although last week I ran late at a friend's house and he had to come give me my Lupron shot in the driveway, which was kind of funny.

Severe MFI. Me: supposedly all clear but eggs showed vacuoles.

IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.

Lucky IVF #2: Transferred two beautiful day three embies on St. Patrick's Day. BFP on HPT 7dp3dt. Beta 1 (14dpER)=106; Beta 2 (16dpER)=140; Beta 3 (19dpER)=264! First u/s 4.17.

I did all of mine and continue the PIO injections to myself also.  Sitting on the sink and looking in the mirror in the bathroom helps alot.   DH, OMG, he did one Folistim injection to me and went so slow it hurt so bad.  I felt the needle go through each layer of skin lol.  Never again will DH touch a needle unless I am deathly ill.  It definitely gets easier the more you do it yourself.  Plus the outcome is worth all the pain.  Good luck!
