All I can think of us Mathilde/Matilda and DH won't even me me hit the second syllable before he says "no!".

My cousin's little girl is Mattie... Her name is Mattisyn (pronounced Madison). Don't know if you're into odd spellings, but it's an option.

I've seen it spelled Matteson, after a family surname, but I think it was for a boy...

My great-grandmother was Mattie, no longer name, just Mattie. If Maddie wasn't so popular, I would consider it, too.

My friend's daughter is Matteson. Sounds like Madison when you say it. She wasn't trying to be youneek with the spelling, it is her mom's maiden name. But anyway - obviously shortens easily to Mattie.
