Second betas in...did not quite double

Hi All,

I just received my second beta levels yesterday. At 4wk 4days, they were 790 and at 5 wks 1 day they came back at 2546. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on these numbers? Nurse said that they looked good to her, but I did not hear from my doctor's nurse with any feedback. Also, progesterone was 33 and then 38. Never had these levels checked in the past, so not sure what to think. Any thoughts would be appreciated!! Thanks so much!

Congrats! Ok, which number are you worrying about doubling? Because I don't know if progesterone typically doubles but I am no math whiz but your beta's more than doubled in 4 days. 790X2= 1580, am I right?!

I am worried about the betas. I thought that they were supposed to double every 48 hours, so they should have been closer to 3000. I'm not sure how far "off" they can be to this doubling number. Also, still so worried because my numbers doubled with my ectopic last year, although they were very low at 6wks.

Your numbers look great! Go to this website https://www.babymed.com/tools/hcg-calculator and put your numbers in. Doubling should occur anywhere from 24-72 hours according to this site. It says that your numbers are doubling every 56.86 hours and that is normal. Your progesterone level looks great. HTH!

I think your numbers sound great. And they more than doubled in 4 days, so maybe your doubling time is 3 days? I don't know, I think there is a calculator out there some women use. I heard doubling time is good anywhere between 24-72 hours. Being Pgal a loss sucks and I am sure isn't helping your anxiety. Sorry

Thank you for the responses! And for helping me calculate out the doubling time! That website is excellent. We go in on Friday for an US to see where the pregnancy is located. I love the PGAL mantra and use it everyday to keep myself from going crazy with anxiety! Thank you again so so much!

Mine did not double either. They were 2353 and 2 days later 4851. I will be 11 weeks tomorrow and have heard a great heartbeat and have had 4 perfect ultrasounds already. Stay positive! Also, betas slow their double rate as they get higher. Check out www.betabase.info

I think the numbers sound good!! I believe they say numbers double every 48 hours but it can really be 72 hours. They seem fine! Also if you haven't gotten a call from the doc office I'd say they aren't concerned but i would call if I was concerned and see if they want to do more beta draws. I had low progesterone levels, I think it was like 8 or something...so 33 and 38 are good numbers!!!! Congrats!!
