Cloth Diapering

Total NB questions...

After reading a lot of really positive posts and a small handful of negative reviews, I decided to order 12 KL size 0 fitteds. It seems like the one complaint (by everyone with negative reviews) was the fact that they get wet 'all over'. My question is whether or not I could stuff them to help with the all over wetness? I realize that newborn babies get changed a lot so maybe I shouldn't worry about it.

This is my first baby and certainly my first time with CD's.

Thanks girls :)

Re: Total NB questions...

  • Fitteds just get wet all over - they're just a big piece of cloth, really. So it sounds like those who didn't like them just don't like fitteds as a style.

Most people really like them for the first few weeks, and then move on when the baby outgrows the absorbancy.

And of course - you will need at least 24 if not 30 diapers for a newborn, so you've got room to try something else as well.

  • that was my understanding too (about being all 1 cloth), that's why i bought them. I also purchased 13 NB Bumgenius diapers. I'm considering getting a few prefolds. But I'm not 100% sold on them. More research may change my mind.

  • I bought some nb prefolds because I caught them on sale, and while I didn't use them a ton as actual nb diapers, they have gotten loads of use as burp cloths, change table liners, extra pocket inserts, breastmilk clean up, etc. If you happen to see some at a decent price, I'd get a few to have around.

that's great to know! Thanks so much for sharing :)

  • You could always get/make fleece liners for them. I didn't feel like they were lacking in absorbancy until 4/5 mos or so
