Left pumped breastmilk on counter...!

So I pump once a day so that my husband can feed our son before bedtime.  I don't know what happened, if I got distracted or what, but I left the FOUR OUNCES of freshly pumped breastmilk on the counter overnight!  Probably about 8 hours, temp of house about 72 degrees.  It smelled like normal breastmilk this morning, not sour or anything...  What do y'all think?  Do I have to dump it??  I'm so mad at myself!!

    My book says you can keep breastmilk between 66-72 degrees for up to 10 hours. I personally wouldn't want to use it if it's been out all night. When in doubt, throw it out. I feel your pain though, I pumped like 10 oz and spilled half it on the floor before I could get it into a freezer bag. You should try to keep a stash in the freezer for your DH just in case these things happen.

    I agree with PP, I'd dump it...better to play it safe! :-) I've been there a few times as well, accidently dumped just pumped milk out when trying to put it away...I get so mad at myself!

    If its been less than 10 hours, I would still use it and in fact, I have used milk left out that long.  Nothing bad happened to LO.

    I sometimes don't cool the milk I pump at work and lo is fine. :)
