Any moms take prometrium during your 1st trimester?

I am 7 weeks pregnant (well tomorrow I will be) and have been on prometrium for a week now cause my progesterone level came back at only 7.5. I had a miscarriage last March so I am really nervous/scared that it will happen again. Will the prometrium help to carry this baby full term?

I took it until 12 weeks. It was a little messy but other then that it was fine. Everything has been fine for me so far and I'm 17 weeks now. Good luck with it!

Thanks. My doctor has me taking it orally though. Is that ok?

There's no real proof that prometrium will help carry a baby to term. But it doesn't hurt to take it, and might help, so.

I was on it till 13 weeks.

I was on it orally until 12 weeks because of a miscarriage in June and low progesterone levels. I'm now 17 weeks along.

PP is right, there is no real proof yet that it definitely helps, but it certainly won't hurt. Some docs really believe in it and others don't.

FWIW, my last two pregnancies ended in miscarriage without it. This time, I started taking it the day of my BFP (3w5d) and took it through the end of week 13. My baby girl is going strong! Best of luck to you.

I had 3 m/c and the day I found out I was pg with this LO is the day I started suppositories. I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow so that has to be a good thing!

I had a miscarriage in May due to low levels (we didn't catch it early enough) so they put me on oral Prometrium right when I got my positive and I'm 13 weeks! I stopped the prometrium last week.
