There is a girl at work who always comes out with some rediculious comments. When I was pregnant with DS, she congratulated me on my pregnancy and then said "I'm happy to hear you're pregnant and not just getting fat. I noticed you'd really packed on the weight, and I spoke with a few people about it and they advised me not to say anything to you. Nice to see it's pregnancy though. Congrats!"
I just saw her again in the gym at work, and she said "When are you finished work?" I told her not until the end of May because I'm due in June. She replied "Wow! You're really big! Sarah is pregnant with twins and this is her last week, and she isn't even as big as you are. Do you feel heavy?"
W-T-F?! IT took everything I had not to throat punch her. For real!
Re: This is why I can't stand this girl!
Awesome!
Wow!
First, congrats on your restraint! Not decking her requires more will power than I have.
I know some people make awkward comments when trying to engage you in conversation when they don't really have the ability to understand or relate, but she - by far- takes the cake on being horrible. I mean, her comments are beyond awkward and mean.
WTF is wrong with people?
I don't know what I would have said to that.
The first time, I would have said something along the lines of "you really should have listened to their advice" and walked away. The next time, if I was quick enough on my feet, I probably would have said something like "I just feel like a normal pregnant woman. Do you feel like an idiot for making inappropriate and unsolicited comments?" and again, walked away.
