I think my kids are a little too young to really love it but I WON it and am so excited to go!!
I have not won a thing in YEARS!!
if you can tell me what to expect, that'll be great. My greatest hope is that they nap on the way there and we can stay up late to enjoy the party.
Is there a pool? That'd be fun to do on Sunday morning
I am sooooooo excited!!!
Re: Have you been to Gaylord?
I recently went to the Gaylord for a conference so I didn't stay in a hotel room, but the area is really nice. The Gaylord itself has a big atrium with trees and retsaurants inside and I'm sure it has a pool and lots of amenities. The food is really pricey though - I just got a sandwich, chips, and drink and spent $15. I bet you could find better and less expensive food within a short walk from the hotel.
The National Harbor area is sort of a self-contained town-center type place. It has a lot of little shops and restaurants, some national chains and some independent/specialty shops. I think it would be a great place to walk around, sort of like Old Town Alexandria, but there isn't anything immediately surrounding the area - it kind of seems like this nice, new plaza area was dropped in the middle of no where.
HTH!
What fun and how lucky! It looks like a great time. Definitely eat off property, it's really expensive at the hotel. Parking is also steep btw.
Since you are already paying for parking there, the National Children's Museum is relocating to National Harbor and they have a temporary store front called the Launch Zone. Your LOs might like it there as well.
My two LOs like it when we go down to the beach to see The Awakening. Climbing on the giant is always fun. They also like seeing the boats and the water and the birds....
