Their girls' names are so pretty and unique; was it too much to hope for more of the same for a little boy?
I'm not saying it's a bad name. I'm just saying....I would've been happier with his first name being Garner instead.
I have a soft spot for Sam, but I get what you're saying. They seemed to have a traditional, but uncommon style with the girls (particularly Seraphina). I was expecting something like Augustine, Julian or Lucien. I still love Samuel, though.
I just breathed a HUGE sigh of relief! LOL. I'm due in 3 months, and I've been SO worried they might choose the name we have picked out because the style of names I like is similar to theirs. I just didn't want everyone saying/thinking "Oh, like Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck's baby?"

ITA! Man, I would have loved Violet, Seraphina and Lucien.
I really like the name. Samuel Garner Affleck flows nicely and incorporates Jen's name (I know she kept it professionally but no clue about privately/legally) as well.
While Seraphina is not my style, I agree that all three children (love Violet) have nice names without the Hollywood "you-neek-ness."
Re: Ben Affleck/Jen Garner name baby...
I love it!
I am loving how they incorporated Garner!
So classy
I think they did a lovely job naming all of their children!

I think it's nice, but dare I call it boring?

I agree, I find Samuel a bit boring, but it is a good, solid name. It's just always refreshing to see Hollywood babies with real names

Cute name!
I'm glad they didn't go creating a new firstname/surname thing with Garner. MN is cool.
And now Snooki is pregnant. Anyone wanna start a pool on how many superfluous letters that poor child will have to remember?
