So I posted yesterday about the condition of the box of LO's new car seat. Here is a picture.
Well, I emailed albeebaby.com (where I bought it) and they said they would accept it as a return. But, they will not send me a new one because they cannot "guarantee that the box would arrive with out similar issues."
So, I emailed Evenflo to see what they had to say. They stated " the seats are drop tested but with the damage to the box being unknown as to how it may have happened you may want to return it."
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out which seat I wanted and this is the seat that I want. According to websites it seems that this seat is not carried in any stores that I can find. Also, I only paid $149.99 for this seat and everywhere else it is $179.99 or more.
I could get a seat similar from the store or for cheaper online. For instance, without the SureLATCH or the Triumph (which is the same, but has less padding).
What would you do? Keep it and use it? Return it and buy a new one from albeebaby.com? Return it and buy it from a different website, hoping it doesn't get smashed on it's way here? Go to a store and buy one similar? Or go to a store and buy a totally different seat? Or some other option I am not thinking of?
Re: Car seat dilemma - Please help
You are taking $30 difference here. If Albee is willing to return it with no restocking fee I would cough up the extra $30 for my child?s safety. Also if you a 20% off coupon at BBB or BRU there is your $30 back to you right there. (supposing they carry the seat for $179.00 and not more than that)
This is what I was going to say. Plus, we get things shipped to us all the time with no damage. I would assume this was just a fluke and wouldn't happen a 2nd time. Sorry you have to deal with this.
I agree. I would go to a BBB or Bed Bath and Beyond and use a coupon. Even if they have to order it, you would be able to see the box before committing to the purchase.
