IUD...really confused!!!

I got Mirena put in last week. Ever since, ive been cramping on and off and i started spotting again...is this normal?? Not only that, it hurt like crazy when my dr put it in. He said the way my body was the pain level on a scale from 1-10 it would be a 10. Sure enough was!!!! Horrible i tell you!!!

I got mirena last week also. I am bleeding now and have been for a few days. I didn't feel anything when they put it in and I have not had any cramping. You may want to call your doc just to be sure it is normal. My friend said she cramped after hers so it may b normal.

I had cramping/spotting the day she put it in but none since then...did not really hurt kind of felt like a pap smear. I had my cycle a week later. No pain so far so good!

I has a horrible experience getting my first Mirena put in, but my pain only lasted that day. I was told prolonged cramping can mean your body is trying to expell the IUD, but I never experienced that. I would call your doctor, they might want to do an u/s to see if the IUD has migrated or something.
