I can't keep his hand off his penis!

Daegan discovered his penis ages ago. In the last two weeks, though, he's decided it's his favourite toy. He'll randomly grab at the front of his diaper in a Michael Jackson-esque move. Diaper changess.... well.... his hand is hovering as soon as his pants are gone, and the second the diaper front is lifted, he grabs his junk. All of it. Death grip. Which, as you can imagine, is fun when he's got a diaper full of poop.

I've tried giving him something to hold onto, and even if it's too big for him to one-hand the item, he'll pin it against his side with one hand, while his other goes right to his crotch. If I manage to get the diaper up, and am trying to do the tabs up, he shoves it away so he can grab again. And when I say "death grip", I mean it. I hesitate to pull his hand away, because I don't want to hurt his little bits!

Any suggestions on how to keep his attention elsewhere? I mean, I'm sure it feels good, and I'm prepared to have the "only in private" talk as soon as he's old enough to understand, but for now, it makes a quick dipe change take over 10 minutes!

Hahaha!! I know the feeling!! I started grabbing Mason's arms with his legs so I can change him. He manages to wriggle one free at some point, but at least I can get most of the poop off of his junk before he grabs it!

Ah the joys of a boy! Martin is barely starting to get to this point. I noticed it most last night when he was in his super seat and he was rubbing a toy up and down in that area lol. It was pretty awesome, but I can see how it would be pretty not awesome if it was during a diaper change and there was poop involved. What angle are you coming at him? Like front on or side on? If it's front on, I have no suggestions. If it's side on, I'd lean in with my body and literally c ock block him from getting to his junk.

I still use the change table, so it's the side. I try to lean over, and hold him/block with my arm, but with limited grip/dexterity when I'm stiff and swollen, it's a task sometimes. I SO cannot do up diaper tabs with just one hand, so he always takes that advantage.

Oh gosh this is Collin too!!! I don't understand the fascination with his penis (although DH says it's just bc I don't have one Giving him something to hold while changing his diaper as well as me singing and trying to keep his attention elsewhere works about half the time though.

Bathtime drives me crazy because it's like he grabs it and then pullsssss so hard. ugh.
This is one of the reasons I was scared to have a boy - penis obsession!

LOVE your new sig as well! So, if you're still using the changing table, and this may seem extreme, I might consider making a screen lol. You can flip it up and strap it across him like a surgical screen each time you change him.

This thread is all kinds of awesome.

Thankfully, we don't usually have poop-grabbing issues even though DS is a big fan of his penis. We've been doing EC at least for poops and we've "caught" almost all poops in the potty since starting. Clean up is a breeze. I just stand him up, wipe him and then we go on our merry way.

Is it bad that my girl does this too? As soon as the diaper is off the hands grab the vag. I get so grossed out when she ends up grabbing poop.
