What time do you put your LO to bed?

Right now we start feeding DS at 9:30 and he is in bed by 10. DH thinks that this is too late and we should start feeding at 8, but I feel like 8 is too early. When we were doing 8 DS would sleep until maybe 2 or 3 and then need fed. That is 6 or 7 hours already, so it would take him a long time to sleep through the night putting him to bed that early. When I tried putting him down at 9:30 I was able to get him to sleep until 4:30 although the past nights DS has been super gassy and hasn't slept well. What do you ladies think? What time is your LO's bedtime and how many times do they get up? How long did it take them to STTN on this bedtime?

DD goes down for the night somewhere between 9:30 and 11.  It really depends on the night,  I like her going to sleep later because then she sleeps more while I sleep and I get a longer stretch of sleep myself which helps me a lot the rest of the day.  I'd rather do that that put her down at 8 then have her up twice during the time that I am sleeping.

Exactly my thoughts.  We do around 10:30 or 11.  As he sleeps longer stretches, we'll move it back.  Otherwise, it just makes it a longer night for us.

Same as PPs - anytime after 9pm is fair game for bed time. We tried the 7pm deal and he gets sleep but I don't. And then he wants to eat when I'm ready for bed. I try to coordinate my sleep w/ his as much as possible. That being said, he still dictates his sleeping and only sleeps about 10 hrs a day. When he sleeps more, we'll make bed time earlier.

Like pp we also do a later in the night bedtime. It really depend on DD. It could be any where from 10-12. DH works late so I am up anyways and she will sleep till 8am so I am OK with that:)

We usually put DD down in her bassinet around 9pm.  It doesn't alway coincide with a feeding though.  Usually she eats sometime between 6pm and 8pm and then we put her down in the PnP until we are ready to go to bed.  She's then up about 3 times throughout the night - around 11, 1, and 4 and will sleep until 8ish after the last feeding.

Carter goes to bed between 7:00pm - 8:00pm. On days that I work/he goes to daycare, he's up at 5:30am, so he's definitely ready for bed by 7:00.

On days that we get up early, he's usually up around 3:30am to eat, then back to sleep until I wake him up at 5:30. On weekends, he goes to bed around the same time...usually up around 3:30am to eat, then back to sleep until somewhere between 7:00am - 8:00am.

That's just the average night, though. Sometimes he's up 3 times in one night.

Usually down between 7 and 8, up to eat at 11 or 12, 3, and then up for the day at 6:30.  I figure I won't have a problem getting up for work because I've been getting up at 5:30 my entire leave to ensure that I can pump once during the day and eat breakfast (I eat with DH, otherwise it was taking me until 10am to get food and that wasn't working.)
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

LO has been going to bed around 6:30 since he was about 5 weeks. It did mean some early mornings (4 am) when he wouldn't go back to sleep in the beginning, but now it gives DH and I some time together for a nice dinner, and we all get up around 6 am - and I still get around 6-7 hours of sleep!

    Exactly this.

All of the sleep books I've read says after they're 6 or 7 weeks old, they need to be in bed earlier. He's down between 6 and 7pm, and usually sleeps until 2-4am (anytime in that window), and then back down until we get up at 5:30 or 6. Once a week or so, he STTN.

I'd MUCH rather have free time with DH at night (both kids are down by 7 at the very latest), and get up a bit earlier, then have LO up until 9 or 10pm.

I highly recommend the book Healthy Sleep Habits Healthy Child.
