If you celebrate Easter?

When do you get out your decorations? I want spring so badly that I am dying to get my Easter stuff out, but I think it is too early. I have also picked up one basket item for DS already and his Easter outfit because I had a Gymboree reward that was going to expire, so I think I am just really in the mood for all things Easter and spring!

Re: If you celebrate Easter?

  • I don't think it is that early.  Easter is early this year!  Normally I would probably get the stuff out in the next 1-2 weeks, but we are getting our house ready to sell, so I don't know what is coming out for decorations...

  • I have St. Patrick's Day stuff I put out first... so after that.
  • I have 1 box of Easter decor that I pulled out yesterday. I put the tablecloth on and swapped the tea towels today. Not sure if I am going to bother with the other stuff right now but I atleast did one thing. All my Easter decorations once belonged to my Grandmother, my mom never really decorated too much for Easter.

  • I personally think anytime in March is reasonable. But I'm also in an area where flowering trees are already blooming.
  • Since Easter is April 8th, I was thinking March 8th would be a good starting date. I might have to get out a few spring things starting this weekend though.

  • I think I'm going to put ours out soon. Why not right ;) I don't really have any St. Patrick's day decorations, so that's not an issue. And it's been gloomy lately, so it would be nice to have some pretty Easter decor out. I figure a month out is fine ;) Plus, I don't want to take the time to put them all out only to have to pack them up a couple weeks later. I want to enjoy them :)

I'm in the Easter mood too...already bought the girls' Easter dresses, and I think I'm about done shopping for their Easter baskets. Just bought a bunch of candy last night too. I'm really looking forward to Spring being here!

  • Is it common to decorate for every single holiday?  The only holidays I've ever seen houses decorated for is Thanksgiving and Christmas.... what kind of decorations are you putting out for Easter & St.Pat's day?

  • I have St Patty day decorations, so on March 18th, I take everything down and put the Easter stuff up.  I incorportate some spring stuff in with St Pattys day, so some stuff is already out.  I put my St Pattys day stuff up about a week after Valentines day.

We decorate for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. I also have seasonal decor that I switch out (like the wreath on the front door, we have a Fall one, Xmas one, Spring/Summer one. Or throws on the couch, table centerpiece....).

For Easter, I have a few bunnies that I put out, an Easter Egg "tree", and I put out the Spring wreath on the front door. I also have a little wooden "Spring" sign that I put on the table by the front door...I'm sure there's some stuff I'm forgetting about too. Oh, and I have some Easter and Spring books for the girls that I bring out.

which reminded me that I also switch out our red runner in the dining room for a cream colored one :)

  • I generally decorate for holidays about a month before the holiday.  My St Patrick's Day stuff has been up since I took down my Valentine's Day stuff.
