ladies who charted: EDD question

My doc declared my EDD to be 10/12. Thing is, that goes by LMP, not by my o date. so when I had my u/s the other day, he said Little Bit was measuring a couple days behind, until I told him exactly when I o'ed. Those dates line up, and Little Bit is measuring on track. But doc didn't change my EDD. I know in the grand scheme of things, 3 days doesn't really matter. But when I use 10/12 on the tracker I have on my phone, it shows conception date of 3 days before I even o'ed and it really annoys me. So, the point of this longwinded rambling post is this: if your doc gave you an EDD that you know was wrong based on your O date, did you use that EDD or the one you knew was closer to being correct?

My EDD is april 19th based on lmp. LO actually measures right on track with that now. In the beginning she was a few days behind because my EDD based on O should be April 23rd. So she is actually measuring ahead but doesn't get credit for it. I just use the lmp one, but chances are, she'll be born on some other day anyway.

When my Dr asked my LMP, I just gave my due date based on O. But I had also figured out when my LMP would be if the day I Oed was on CD 14 (does that make sense? I Oed on CD12 so I was going to say last AF was 2 days before it really was.)

With the last one, I always measured right with EDD based on O.

I am only 2 days off from the date given if I used LMP, so it really wouldnt matter much,

My EDD of LMP is 1 week a head of where my O EDD is...I told the Dr a few times I know exactly when I Oed. I had an u/s too and that measured 2 days ahead of where Oed was

. I am going by my u/s date- figured if baby is measuring that then Ill go by that.

Same thing happened to me. My doctor is going by my LMP, but I'm going by my O date. It's only a 2 day difference so it's not a huge deal, but I just feel like it's more accurate. With our 8w u/s LO was measuring right on track with my O date. I guess if she had been measuring differently I might have changed my mind. My doctor has never been concerned about her measuring "behind", so I haven't made a big deal about him having the wrong EDD. Smile

Use the one your dr gave you. It will make everything much easier.

After first Tri, 3 days won't make any difference anyways.

Mine always goes off LMP. However, at my first u/s, baby was measuring a few days small (which did not completely shock me - I know I o'd a few days later than 'average' and have slightly longer cycles). Doc did not change due date based off that u/s but she said she will based on my u/s on Monday (a bit over 8 weeks) if baby has not caught up on growth which I am not expecting. We'll see what happens.

You're right, 3 days makes no difference because baby will come when it is ready but I'd still be annoyed doc didn't listen to me!

I think this early they don't usually change them, but you could also just press the issue, since further along this would definitely mean something!

I know how you feel! While I haven't had my first appt yet to get my official EDD, FF and the Bump have been fighting about it. Based on LMP I should be due 10/23, but I o later than typical and FF says based on o date my EDD is 10/30. While my ticker lines up with LMP (I think, I can't remember now), I'm sticking with my o's EDD of 10/30. I'll let the doc sort things out in 12 days!

Like you, my O is 3 days off of LMP. I didn't want to deal with it so I just gave them an adjusted LMP so it would be the same and I didn't have to worry about the difference. I know a few days doesn't really matter, but I was measuring behind at first (based on O) and I didn't want that to be compounded by a different LMP.

I use my own...my O date...What does he know? He's only a doctor Big Smile

Plus when I go in I just tell him that according my O date we are right on track and he usually just stops then and agrees. He gave me a due date range which is only 2 days. I say use yours because in the big picture it really doesn't matter.

I'd use what I know to be correct. And since I know my O date without a shadow of a doubt, I'm going with that.

I always used the one I knew was right, based on my O date. I would just ignore the annoying techs/nurses/etc. that would spout off a different EDD. After the twins, I learned never to give my LMP. I just say "sorry, I can't remember, but I know my O date." Works every time.
