First time pregnancy and one of the things I've worried about is my blood pressure. Was on a diaretic medication before becoming pg to help lower my blood pressure but they took me off of it once I got pg. So far I've been monitoring at home and everything has been normal.
This past week the bottom number has been jumping up into the high 80's. It's been a really stressful week at work so I don't know if that is contributing to it or if it's just starting to get higher??? I'm 24 weeks now. My twin sister developed preclampysia during both her pregnancies having her first baby at 34-35 wks and then her 2nd baby at 30 weeks, he was only born at 2 lbs 4 oz!
I've discussed my concerns with my doctor but wanted to know at what point should I be concerned about the rising lower #? I don't go back to the doctor for another 2 weeks.

IT'S A GIRL
I am in a very similar situation to you. I'm at FTM and I was on hydrochlorothiazide (diuretic) before I got pregnant and was taken off when I found out I was pregnant. I have been monitoring my bp at home. My doctor said that she wanted to know about it if it was 130/90 pretty regularly. I was put back on a low dose of hydrocholorothiazide this last week since I was over 130/90 for a couple weeks. She told me that it is normal for your bp to go down at the beginning of pregnancy and then go back to its previous level after 20 weeks.
My doctor chose to put me back on the diuretic since I am salt sensitive. It is pregnancy class B drug and seems to have less risk after the first trimester. Hope that helps you. Good luck.
Thanks everyone, makes me feel a little less like I'm being a hypochondriac being concerned. I was on hydrochlorothiazide before but that's what they took me off of after I got pregnant.
I faxed over my home log to the nurse and am waiting to see what they say or want me to do. The doctor told me at my last appointment that they would try medication first before putting me on bedrest to see if that will work. Not really looking forward to bedrest but will do whatever is necessary to have a healthy baby.
