  • ahhh!! from the pics it doesn't look too bad :)  did you do the organic because of being preggers???

i tried organic/natural sunscreen during my last pregnancy while in Mexico b/c i was scared of chemicals (I know, ridiculous...) - i burned sooooooooo bad!  apparently the chemicals is what must keep the sun away!  It is funny the things we do for these babies :)

    p.s. love the blog!

  • this happened to me too, about two weeks ago!

My friend, who operates her own hair salon, and has been doing my hair for years dyed it for me. I asked for a medium brown, and it turned out dark brown that looked orange in any light. It looked awful with my pale skin!

I had to muster the courage to tell her I hated it and went back in for another shot. She said my options were to go darker and cover it up, OR color the whole thing with an ash color (ash is the opposite of gold/orange in the hair dye world) to try to pull out the orange. I choose that option. It turned my roots BRIGHT ORANGE, eek! Next we highlighted (so orange with bleach blond pieces- yikes!), but then she put this toner on for a few minutes that changed it all to a more brown tone. It looks okay. My roots are still orange in the light, but it's much more normal/natural looking.

I blame the pregnancy for the strange reaction (hopefully my friend doesn't just suck all of a sudden!) and will try to avoid coloring until after delivery if I can!

    Good luck with your hair!!!!

  • ick - lol...  but SO great to know that i'm not the only one...  if it really is a reaction to pregnancy, i'm surprised that hairdressers aren't trained to compensate for that somehow?!

I''ll definitely try the dish soap - as for the darker colours, i've heard that trying to cover up with dark can make it go greenish.  I wonder if there's any way to avoid that?
