When do you plan to order/purchase your crib?

DH and I (well - mostly just me) are starting to plan out the nursery and I want to make sure I get the crib ordered in time so we can have everything delivered, set up and ready to go by the time I hit 30 weeks.

When do you plan on getting your crib? In your opinion how soon is "too soon" to start getting the nursery ready?

ETA: I just now saw that I missed the post on this from earlier today. Now I feel dumb. Embarrassed

I didn't order a thing until after the big u/s. After that I waited to catch a good sale and ordered it then. It usually doesn't take very long, so you could probably wait until like 25 weeks.

If it were up to me I would buy it around 20 weeks so my cats could have plenty of time to get over the curious factor, however my MIL is buying it and said she will buy it in June, so I can't really complain since she's buying it for me! LOL

I have this HUGE fear of not having everything that I needed before the baby arrived. This happened to me with my son. I am planning to get a crib and mattress next week and start from there. That way I can knock out all the big stuff ahead of time.

We got our crib for our son after he was born and we're doing the same with this baby. They both will have slept in a cradle by my bed the first 12-15wks anyway. But I totally get people wanting to have it all set up ahead of time. Our nersery for our son was ready to go, all we needed was the crib. It took my H and FIL less than an hour to set it up.

Oh me to. I read "16-20 weeks" and realized that holy crap that is less than 4 weeks away already.

It doesn't help that yesterday my midwife asked if we had decided on a pediatrician yet. Indifferent

We bought it on Sunday...we are not as crazy as we seem...we were out of town, and the one we got was at a store we don't have near home, and we didn't know when we would be back. I say whenever you are comfortable...

It is never too early to plan the nursery! I've had ideas for #2's nursery well before he/she was even conceived haha.

I got #1's crib around 20w. I waited until then because I was toying with the idea of not getting a crib but as soon as I made the decision my credit card was out.

I'm counting down the days to my anatomy scan (8 more weeks! eek!) so that I can finally get my paint and all of my decorations!

I don't plan to start buying things until July--partly because I'm paranoid and partly because we're moving cross county in a couple of months and I don't think we'll be settled into a new house until then. We might not be ready if LO comes early, but 2.5 months should be plenty of time if s/he comes on time (and I think it will make it drag out for me in the end if it's all done and I'm just sitting around waiting).

We are ordering ours in May. So I will be 26-28 weeks when it comes in. We will know the sex when we order but we have had the set picked out since I was 5 weeks.

It will probably be our last large purchase. We plan to have our LO sleep in our room the first couple of months.

I'm in the heart attack group! Weve talking to some friends who own a furniture store so we are getting things at costs which is great. I have no clue when we are actually planning on ordering it.

DH and I have decided not to buy any furniture for the nursery until our LO is here. We are going to buy a co-sleeper though. That is not to say I don't have everything picked out already whether it's a boy or girl.

We will purchase after we find out the sex. If it's a girl, we're doing white, for a boy we're doing dark brown.
