    Sounds yummy! I'm doing french onion soup tomorrow w/ white wine, if I can find something good...

    We're having french onion soup too!

    I use red onions, spanish onions, & leeks in ours.  And a chunk of french bread instead of crutons.  I also add a bottle of dark beer to the soup to deepen the flavor after I slow cook the onions for an hour and a half.
