This is probably a stupid question, but how can I tell that DS's diaper needs changing without sticking my finger in it, undoing his clothes-he hates that- or noticing that his clothes/sheets/bouncy seat are wet?
At that age T was peeing like a mad man, and I don't like for him to sit in a wet diaper. I either leave him in a fitted or prefold without a cover so that I can change him as soon as he pees...or, yes, I stick my finger in his cover and feel if the front of the diape is wet.
I generally change DS every 2 hours (with each feeding). If he falls asleep or something before I can do it, then I just let it go. He almost always poops once a day first thing in the morning and that diaper gets changed right away. I always hear it.
Re: How do I know when to change his diaper?
OK, the edit thingy didn't work for me, but I should probably add that we're using cloth.
at that age i generally changed no less than every 2 hours. or if i heard her go poo!
if rashy, i'd say every hour or so until it clears. ?
