EF party favors?

I'm starting to think about throwing a birthday party for both my girls this July (since my older DD didn't have a party for her bday in December).  Id like to make it as waste free (and low-key) as possible and so far I've decided:

- electronic or FB invitations

- cupcakes instead of cake so we can skip plates & forks

- asking attendees to bring a food bank donation as I don't want gifts

- having it at the local spray park and skipping decorations.

But I'd like a few more ideas for party favors. I hate the dollar store crap you get at most birthday parties, it all just goes into the garbage anyhow. So far my ideas are to give a tree seedling or small potted plant as a favor, but otherwise I haven't come up with much even when I looked online.  Please share any ideas for an EF party!  TIA

  • Fruit.  You can give it out by itself or if you want to dress it up you could decorate reusable lunch bags with each child's name.

  • Seed bombs! They're cute, plus kids can have the chance to plant their own little garden.

  • I love paper favors with seeds in them, so you can plant them. I think I have seen pinwheels and paper airplanes like this, but you can also get plain paper and cut it into fun shapes.

  • I've done re-usable water bottles.  They were used during the party as well.  I tied a thank you note and the kids name on each bottle (on a 2" circle cut out).  CamelBak .5 liter.
