I'm starting to think about throwing a birthday party for both my girls this July (since my older DD didn't have a party for her bday in December). Id like to make it as waste free (and low-key) as possible and so far I've decided:
- electronic or FB invitations
- cupcakes instead of cake so we can skip plates & forks
- asking attendees to bring a food bank donation as I don't want gifts
- having it at the local spray park and skipping decorations.
But I'd like a few more ideas for party favors. I hate the dollar store crap you get at most birthday parties, it all just goes into the garbage anyhow. So far my ideas are to give a tree seedling or small potted plant as a favor, but otherwise I haven't come up with much even when I looked online. Please share any ideas for an EF party! TIA
Re: EF party favors?
Fruit. You can give it out by itself or if you want to dress it up you could decorate reusable lunch bags with each child's name.
I've done re-usable water bottles. They were used during the party as well. I tied a thank you note and the kids name on each bottle (on a 2" circle cut out). CamelBak .5 liter.
