Friday - Jelly Bean and I met K after work for dinner at one of our favorite casual places.
Saturday - Left DD with babysitter and took K to a beer festival. I don't really like beer, so this was my Valentine's day gift to her. We met up with some friends and had a nice time.
Sunday - K nursed a hangover in the morning while DD and I ran a few errands. Then we met up at Home Depot to pick up some cabinets we had ordered. Then K went out to write and DD and I had a good night at home.

Friday night I got take out since we all got home
super late thanks to traffic. Had a fun family meal and then watched
some kids' movie.
Saturday kids woke in the middle of the night
because of the crazy wind storm and came to our bed. I spent the last half of the
night clutching the side so I wouldn't fall off. #sleepfail. L took the
kids to swimming while I hit the grocery store to get stuff for our
dinner party. Spent 6 hrs at home cooking, prepping, cleaning, doing
things around the house that we've meant to do for 6m. We had 2 couples
over for dinner. It was fun and the kids had a blast playing with one of
the couples 6y old son. Our playroom was trashed. I went to bed feeling
stiff and sore, but attributed it to standing on our hardwoods all day
with no shoes.
Sunday morning woke up feeling like hell. Achy,
stomachache, exhausted. At first I thought it was the 2 glasses of wine I
drank with dinner, but I ended up going back to bed and sleeping till
10 (which I don't think I have ever done.) Woke up feeling somewhat
better. Simon (our cat) starting walking around the house screaming and
was in obvious pain from something so we packed him up and headed to the
emergency vet to find his bladder was blocked and he couldn't pee
(hence the pain.) Left him there and went to Red Robin for lunch and
home where I basically got into bed at 3pm with a low grade fever and
didn't do much the rest of the night. Managed to watch the Oscars till
10:30 and then I gave up.
Friday we sent the kids to daycare/school so we could clean the house and help with the memorial service arrangements. We also snuck out to a movie. In the evening the family all got together at Chili's to celebrate my cousin's birthday. Huge group of folks that I havent seen in years and my wife/kids have never met. Service was so slow (expected for a party of 20) and the kids nearly melted. It was nice, though.
Saturday was the memorial service for my Nana. It was nice. My in-laws came which was really sweet and it was a relief to see them (i'm closer to them than most of my huge family). We had a break in between events so we could rest and the kids could nap which was good. Then in the evening we went to a restaurant with even more family than we had the night before. It went well and the kids had a good time playing with all their newly met cousins.
Sunday we had some family time in the morning then met up with everyone again to visit a park and a sugar shack (a big part of the crew was from FL so its not something they would ever see back home). Said goodbye to family and went to my parents' house for dinner. Kids were exhausted/overstimulated/off schedule from the whole weekend and had a meltdown all the way home. It was a relief to get them into bed last night.
Today I'm trying to catch up at work while also anxiously checking my phone because I got word that bio mom had another baby - another girl. it never ends around here!
Can I go back to Wednesday of last week? Before the Friday website outage? I got an unexpected chance to see the girl for dinner Wednesday night. We had amazing conversation and good food and yes, there was finally some kissing! I told her I was really glad we had the opportunity to have some good conversation before our date on Saturday and she agreed. We talked about what I would call "the important things" until the wee hours of the morning before I finally left for home.
Friday: I went to dinner with some friends at a vegetarian place and then to a fun Friday night event that the Seattle art museum hosts. There was music and drinks and we saw the special exhibit which is Paul Gauguin's work. It was a fun night.
Saturday: I intended to sleep in but woke up early thinking about my date and how excited I was and there was no more sleeping in! So I was up and did laundry and chores and got groceries. Then I got ready to go. I left early so I could stop at the market downtown for fresh flowers (I'm quite the traditionalist in that sense!) and got to her place right on time. We headed downtown for a fantastic dinner and Latin jazz show. It was a great night...that stretched into Sunday.
Sunday: It was a lazy morning. We talked about traveling, she has some trips in the coming months that she'd like me to join her on. We got ready and grabbed lunch at a cute place and then drove downtown. We walked near the waterfront and found a great overlook spot with a view of the city. It was chilly but sunny and as we stood there in that romantic spot, I asked her if she'll be my girl. And she said yes! We grabbed coffee and walked just enjoying the day. Then we went to a movie at a theater where you can have adult beverages in the theater. We got pizza and caught the post oscars red carpet and called it a night.
Fri: Picked Ky up and hit the grocery. I cleaned while Ky played. When Ann got home we had dinner and a movie before bed.
Sat: I dropped Ann off at work so I could see her new store. It is HUGE compared to her old one and Ky thought the empty backroom was great for running and it echoed. After I left I went to pay some bills and pick up a few forgotten items at the grocery. After lunch Ky took a nap and I folded a week's worth of laundry and mopped. When she got up it was pretty much time to go get Ann form work. We stopped at the store and got salad bar salads for dinner. I had grabbed two redbox movies earlier and we half watched one before deciding it was not interesting and headed to bed.
Sun: Ky was up at 6:50 (like clockwork I tell you!) so I got up and fed her. I planned on lounging on the couch while she played and making breakfast for lunch (about the time Ann usually gets up on Sunday if we have no plans) BUT Ann got up about 730...So we had breakfast for breakfast! Ky played for a while and I decided to take a nap while Ann took her outside and fixed our gate (a board had come loose allowing the dog to escape) and cleaned out her car. When they came in Ky ate a quick lunch and napped. We watched the other movie...also boring. When Ky got up we started getting ready to go out to dinner for MIL's birthay. I had to alter one of Ky's dresses (added a button/ribbon loop to take in the extra fabric). Since she is such a tall/skinny baby she ends up in a size bigger so her dresses are not scandalously short. Dinner was fun. We got home and put Ky to bed and watched Amazing race before going to bed ourselves.
Today I'm trying to catch up at work while also anxiously checking my phone because I got word that bio mom had another baby - another girl. it never ends around here!
Wow!!! I know you thought this was a possibility, I just didn't think it would be quite.this.soon. Holy moly! I'll be thinking of you and A this week. And also, hugs on the loss of your nana...
We took a long weekend (went up on Thursday night, Friday off) and went to visit my sister & family. Friday we kept our nephews home from daycare and took them on "an adventure" aka a children's musuem and the mall for lunch. I love that at 2 the mall escalator counts as exciting!
Saturday we played at their house and hung out, and then drove to Sturbridge for a cook your own dinner like the 1830s event (me, DW, sister, and BIL). We then spent the night at a b&b with hot tubs. We put on swimsuits and hung out in one room enjoying some bubbly adult beverage. We used to spend a lot of time the 4 of us before my nephews were born, so it was fun to do that again.
Sunday we had a fancy buffet brunch with them and ate way too much. Then we drove home!

I was on vacation last week so Friday was just another day off. I went out to lunch with a friend which was really nice and then took E up to my parents for a visit. It was crappy weather so we decided to sleep over which gave dw a nice treat of sleeping in.
Sat we went to melting pot for dinner with some of dw's grad school friends it was fun. I was a little annoyed that one of them put shrimp in my pot (I am very allergic) so about 2 pieces of meat in I couldn't eat anymore. But I more than made up for that with my chocolate consumption.
Sunday was dw's birthday so after she went to the library and E had a nap I cooked dinner and E and I made cupcakes. I am so looking forward to the cupcakes tonight! Pretty boring weekend with some fun sprinkled in. I did get some bad news on Sat that the brother of one of my students is missing he disappeared after being at a bar on Tuesday night. They are searching the reservoir today. I am so sad for the family. He went to my school as well but I didn't have him. He was/is a great kid. They were very close I can only imagine what the family is going through.

There are some germs this house can't seem to shake.
Friday--Pumpkin crashed early and I thought we were doomed for a super-early awakening, but he "slept in" til 6:30 Sat morn! L and I watched a movie Fri night.
Sat--crabby house. Ugh. Wanted to get out. Too cold. Everyone was sick and short tempered. Could have done without most of that day.
Sun--L's mom and bro finally came up to celebrate (an anti-climactic) Christmas.
I hunkered down on the couch with all of the pics I have taken since he came home and finally put them in an album, while watching the Oscars. I Billy Crystal.
Saturday we hosted a birthday dinner for a friend at our house. we do a small monthly dinner with friends, this one was a bigger group than we usually have but it was lots of fun. we cleaned and cooked during the day.
Sunday morning IUI and we spent the afternoon at the home and garden show.
