Non dorky sun hats for kids?

Do these exist?  I want to be better about keeping my kids in hats this summer but I really don't want to make them look like little old men with frumpy fisherman hats.

Any ideas/links you want to share to cute yet effective sun hats for boys?

  • I just do a ball cap for my son. He would never keep a bucket hat on.

  • We have OR hats.  I don't know if they are dorky or not, but they are good and work well.

We have used an OR hat for DS for the past two years and it's been fantastic!  Waterproof, adjustable (many years use out of it) and just an all over well made hat.  DS doesn't even try to pull it off.  I wish I knew about these when my girls were younger.

That said, we only use it at the beach or pool.  If we're just out at the park, I just put sunscreen or a baseball hat on him.

Same for us.  DS1 will only wear a ball cap now (well, and a cowboy hat) but he hates the bucket hats so we just do sun screen and the ball cap.  He likes to be like Daddy.  DS2 is not really in to wearing any hats right now so hopefully I can at least ease him into a ball cap.

    Yeah this is us exactly.
