Perinatologist recommendation please.

Hi! I would love your opinions on perinatologists here in Austin. We live north so would prefer someone close to us. We aren't pregnant yet but I would love my options outside of Dr. B err y we saw him last pregnancy, and I would like more options next time.

I know one of the newer ladies on here, LoriATX, sees a physician at Texas Perinatal. She's had some things come up in the last couple of weeks that put her out of town so she's probably not going to be on here for awhile, but if you want me to find out who she sees let me know.

I saw Dr. Ber ry but was also recomended Cele ste Shep herd. I've heard lots of good things about her but have no personal experience.

I saw Cele ste Shep pard during my pregnancy. She was great. She is super smart but she is very much a tell it like it is woman. Her office is North, its on duval.

For work, I spend a lot of time with Dr. Ti m Har stad and Dr. Je ff Ridge way at Tex as Per inatal Gro up. I really like them both. They are great with our mutual patients. There are 2 other docs in that practice, i just dont spend as much time with them.

I would recommend any of the doctors above!

I see Dr Shep pard, she is upfront and not touchy feely (which I like). She does run a little behind sometimes, and I don't see her every visit.

I saw her last pregnancy, and am a repeat patient this time around

I've been seeing Dr. Ce les te She ppa rd (the only Dr.) at Hill Cou ntry MFM since I was 9 weeks. I like her a lot. She's not going to be your BFF, but I find her kind and thorough. I've been 4 or 5 times and seen her twice, only bc every appt is an u/s and they've all been fine.

Here are my suggestions:

I've had to wait sometimes 15-20 min, sometimes an HOUR and 15 min. Take the first appt (8am) or the first after lunch.

Definitely call the day or two before each appt and request Gre tchen as your sonographer. She is as awesome and wonderful as Ka thy (the other sonographer) is terrrrrible. I was going to switch Drs if I had to keep seeing Ka thy. They say, "Oh, we don't schedule you with a sonographer, you just see who is available when you get here." but I've requested her twice and been successful both times.

I see Dr. Ber ry and I really like him so far. He calls me personally with results rather than the nurse and seemed to really listen when I went in there with my concerns.
