i have a few weddings in the next few months, is there a good website that sells fancy maternity dresses?? i would like to buy one that will last me a few months
Sorry, it won't let me attach a hyperlink. But this website is great. You can rent dresses, and they have a great "bump friendly" selection. Just search for that under "occasions". Some dresses are more expensive than others, but I think it's a great deal for something you might not ever wear again, and it make it easier to afford something nicer if you want. I have a wedding to go to in June and I can't wait to find a dress off of that site.
I have had zero luck finding wedding-appropriate maternity dresses for the few I have coming up. I felt most just made me look like I was too pregnant to wear something really nice, so I slapped this egg-shaped mumu on and called it a day. Not happening.
I ended up buying two silk maxi dresses with empire waist lines - one from Nordstrom and one on super sale from Neiman Marcus. I sized up one to give myself some room and had the bust line tailored to fig snug around the pregnancy boobs, and voila. They fit and drape like a regular dress and it looks like I just happen to be pregnant, much preferred over the doomed to this shape because I'm pregnant look.
So anyway, point being, be open to regular women's clothing in silhouettes that will still work in pregnancy.
Another pregnant friend of mine is wearing this with a cropped black blazer to up the conservative factor and insane shoes to a wedding on the water in May..
Since this is baby #3, I've literally tried on over a hundred different dresses in over a dozen stores during my previous pregnancies. The maternity dress styles are "OK", but I really wanted to find some dresses that are both cute/classy and affordable... and not "cheap-looking".
Honestly, this time around I opted to try Dress Barn after it was suggested by a good friend. I found several very cute empire waist dresses in the misses section. I ended up buying two evening dresses, and I will be going back for daytime dresses. They're not maternity, but the raised empire waistline provides tons of pregnant belly room. And the dresses are SO cute, and DB always has some great sales! I wore this one to DH's work casino night (formal dinner event) a few weeks ago, and I plan on wearing it to an evening wedding on Good Friday in April as well.

I have a wedding to attend in May...literally 3 weeks before I'm due. I found an inexpensive choice on amazon (well, they were the go-between) when I looked up "caftan dresses." I chose one that had a good amount of bust room (60") and the style will allow for growth. I'm thinking of going back and getting some caftan blouses!
I've since received the dress and tried it on and love it! It's also going to be weather-friendly since I'm sure I'll be warm that time of year.
wrap dresses are great. Banana Republic has a bunch right now. I also like anything a bit shorter to show off legs with your bump. and if your girls are bigger vs. usual (but not too big!) something low cut would be good too!
