July 2012 Moms

I just had this conversation...

with my 2.5 year-old son.

BEN:  My belly getting really big.  My going have a baby!

ME:  Ooh, you are?  Just like me?

BEN:  Yes!  My going give her milk from my boops!

ME:  Is that so?

BEN:  Yes!  My have to help her see out the window.  She not high enough.  My have to hold her up.

ME:  That's very nice of you!

BEN:  Yep.

Bahahahahahaha!

"Milk from my boops" is my favorite part... it happened a good 30 min ago and I still cannot stop laughing!  He keeps me on my toes, that's for sure.  :)

I love this.  And I also am comforted by the fact that he uses 'my' for various pronouns, because DD does that and I've never noticed other kids doing it!

Oh yes, it's totally normal for kids to hang on to one term or another for a while.  My friend's son does the exact opposite- never says "my" or "me" but uses "I" for everything.  It's pretty funny to listen to him and Ben in conversation.  They'll all figure it out eventually!  ;-)
