Is there anyone from the Harrisburg/Lancaster or surrounding area who has dealt with infertility?
We just discovered that our only chances of success will be through some pretty expensive treatments. I am just looking to see if you liked your doctor and how much other people paid for IUI's and IVFs in the area and where they went.
(We just left May Grant because, even though I think they are fine when it comes to yearly visits and women who are already pregnant, but they were TERRIBLE in dealing with infertility.)
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Re: Infertility?
Hi!
Sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis.
Unfortunately this board is really, really slow.
Have you tried the Infertility board? https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/4236698/ShowForum.aspx
I'll bet if you posted there that you were looking for recs in Central PA that you'd get more replies than here.
Been dealing with IF for the past four years. My gyn was terrible too. Wouldn't order a semen analysis or even test my fsh. If you haven't done any medicated TI yet, then I would advise going to the Center for Women's health in Camp Hill. They really try to work with your natural cycle to beat IF. If you are past that stage, then I recommend going outside the Harrisburg area for treatment.
I know of one person on thebump who had success with ACIRM, but I don't recommend him in any way. PM if you want details. You can get a consult with a Shady Grove RE in the Harrisburg area but if you decide on treatments you will need to go to Baltimore of Frederick. Keep in mind most centers will allow you to get your monitoring done closer to home, but not to many RE's in our area are willing to monitor patients for another center.
I paid around $8500 for IVF and about $7000 in meds for my first attempt. I learned a lot after that first go around and I now know not to order all the meds the nurse sends to the pharmacy. Probably actually only used about $4500 worth the first go around.
My favorite clinic so far, and I've been to 4, and had 5 additional consults, was SIRM of GLV. The office and lab were well run, They also look into immune issues, which no other center seemed interested in doing for me.
Good luck and please PM me if you have any other questions.

I used to go to May Grant but wanted an all women's practice so I moved to Lancaster Physicians For Women. They are located right above MG. I LOVE them! When I was having trouble conceiving my doctor sent me to an RE in Hershey by the name of Dr. Dodson. Dr. Dodson was amazing!
DH and I have decided not to persue IVF so I don't have any prices for you in regards to that.
If you ever want to talk or pick my brain about the Doctors I saw just PM me (i'll give you my email then). In case it matters, I was diagnosed with POF (Premature Ovarian Failure).
Good Luck! Infertility is horrible but just remember that you're not alone! Being able to talk to people about it is really what got me through the tough times.
We also worked with Dr. Dodson for our IF treatments. We had a wonderful experience at Hershey.
I wish you all the best - infertility was such a painful time and it was amazing to have the support from these boards.
