Austin Babies

Oh, dear. Daycare woes.

I was cornered this morning by A's teacher from her former classroom.  She is Pakistani and awesome.  As I was filling out A's chart, I look up and she is standing right in front of me with her big brown eyes.  She stared at me and then quietly said, "Pees do not go."  :(

CRY CRY CRY.  This is hard.  :(

A starts at the new place on Thursday.

Re: Oh, dear. Daycare woes.

  • oh :-(  hugs, that is really hard.  That tugged on me so I can't imagine how that felt for you.

  • boo, that's not cool. I'd start apologizing profusely. I hate changing things like that and feel horrible in the moment, but once the move is made, you'll be so much happier.

We switched H's school this year and he's thriving so much at the new place. Seriously, it's been almost 2 months and he knows all about so many animals, tells us stories, sings songs, etc. Old school, nada. He even sits at circle time now!

It'll be better for you all!

  • For the first 15 seconds I thought you were saying the teacher said "Pees do not go." Anyway, that sucks. But if it's any consolation, the older and more verbal she gets, the more you will know and be reassured by children's fickle hearts. On days I take Rosie for a full day of daycare she will similarly whisper that I not leave her. On days I pick her up after lunch she will object that I'm interrupting playtime and practically riot. If only you had a video tape of 15 minutes after you leave! Big hugs!

It was the teacher.  She has a very thick, gorgeous Pakistani accent.  It sounded like Pees.  The she said that the director told her and 4 other teachers if they want to work more hours they can do so.  She is having them stay later so as to have more consistency for the babies in the class.

So, she told me that, and I said, "That's great, Q!!  Good for you!  I know the extra money is helpful."And she smiled and said, "I know!  So now no go!  You stay.  Aleece stay" Knifeinmyheart.
  • Uh, yeah, that totally sucks. Yikes. But still, based on all your concerns, it sounds like A will be happier.
  • Oh.  That's stinks.  But it's still the right thing.  Get her number and have her keep Alice on your date nights.
