I'm looking for a comfortable pair of black ballet flats with no buckles, embellishments, and especially no toe cleavage! I have a standard to wide foot so they can't be super narrow. Anyone have a pair or a brand they love?
I was looking at FSNY, but a lot of the reviewers said they had to add insoles to make them comfortable. I'm not down for adding stuff to a shoe
ETA: I'm comfortable spending up to $125. So no Tory Burch recs okay
Re: NSAIFR: black flats
Hmm - just checked Cole Haan and their plain flats have a little bit of leather on the back (sort of like a lace/bow). https://www.colehaan.com/colehaan/catalog/product.jsp?catId=100&productId=356920&productGroup=387804
They are $148 but their stuff is often on sale - happy to pass along a sale code the next time I get one if those are of interest, but I realize they aren't perfect.
Will see if I can come up with anything else...

I have been wanting to check out the new TOMS ballet flats. If they are anywhere as comfortable as their other shoes- I will need 5 pairs!

Okay, don't get mad, but if you bought the black Tory revas, you wouldn't be sorry. Most comfortable shoe, ever. And durable! I've worn mine multiple times/week for 3 years and they look new
And they aren't much more than $125, right? With shoes, you really get what you pay for.
I hear you on the $ but seriously - you cannot beat Tory. That being said (and because I HATE when people don't actually answer what I asked, lol), have you looked at J Crew? They have really nice ballet flats, not positive on price but less than Tory. Or, some of my favorite flats have been random finds at Nordstrom Rack for super cheap, it may be worth checking out.
P.S. - kme, my husband is going to want words with you for posting the link to those Cole Haans. ADORE them!!!! And I just ordered new shoes from RueLaLa so I'm above my shoe quota already, but I may need a pair of those too!
I got the new Tom ballet flats for my birthday. But they were too big, so I am waiting for my replacement pair. They do seem awfully comfy. And the do come in wide. I can't remember if they have any toe cleavage. If I did, it wasn't very much.
My Torys aren't as comfy. I think I am really a size 8 1/4, but no one carries that size! So I went with a size 8 Tory thinking they would stretch (at least that is what the sales guy said). They haven't stretched much. But I only wear them occasionally on the weekend.
A few ideas (some may be a little over $125)
-A.nn Ta.ylor has basic black flats and I know their shoes have some padding for comfort. No embellishments.
-J. C.rew has a pointy-toed black flat (I think the Viv?). I haven't tried on a pair of their flats in ages so can't speak to comfort but the shoe is really nice looking, I thought (in fact, I might have to get a pair of the flats for myself...they look like a cheaper version of Man.olo Blahn.iks that I love).
-T.ory..I know you said no but they have the ubiquitous Rev.a (I don't think they're the most comfortable flat out there, personally, but they're a great basic). She also has another flat called the E.ddie which looks much like the amazing L.anvin flats....very simple, basic).
I really believe it's worth it to pay up for good shoes so I know you don't want to spend over $125 but for a pair of black flats, I think it's a worthwhile investment...you'll wear them constantly (sorry to be a bad shopping influence!!).
I can't stand the Reva, sorry ladies, but it's just such a huge status/monogram thing in Dallas to have them that I refuse.
That said, I love Born flats. I have never been disappointed. I also have a pair of cap toe Cole Haan flats from their Nike Air line and wholly tamales those are comfy. Might have been a smidge over $125 but I love them.

https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/born-gemma-floral-flat/3260672?origin=category&resultback=629 - these come in black even though they aren't on the website. I'm wearing them right now.
https://shop.nordstrom.com/S/cole-haan-air-tali-lace-ballet-flat/3237832?origin=category&resultback=943 - these are similar to what I have. Minimal embellishment.
I honestly didn't think my Revas were the most comfortable flats. They were ok, but not great. Plus, I swear one shoe stretched out and was always falling off.
I'd recommend looking at puma ballet flats if you really want something comfy. They are a bit more casual, but they are seriously awesome. Or Cole Haan, but that may be pushing your price point.
i don't think the Tory's are comfortable at all- specially for $150+
Seychelles are insane. super simple & comfortable. plus, they're like $50.
