Feeling like a wimp

I don't know if it's the hormones or just all the chronic pain, but I just lost it today. I feel like I can't keep up with how complicated all of my various ailments are and the restrictions that it puts on my diet and activities. Cholestasis, GD, severe anemia, mo/di boys that require me to eat 175 g of protein, terrible constipation so I have to get iron infusions instead of oral, irritable uterus that has me taking 20mg of niphedapine every 4 hours or my body is totally taken over with contractions that KILL my back, insomnia, nausea (from the cholestasis), horrible itching (from the cholestasis), and my body doesn't get around anymore! Is this me hitting that wall that everyone talks about???

  • You are so close!! Try to distract yourself as much as possible. I know, easier said than done. You are much stronger than you think. Good luck :)

  • Hang in there! I didn't have all those complications, and I cried often from 34 weeks on.

In spite of all you have going on, I cannot remember a post from you that wasn't encouraging or informative for other people.  Don't be hard on yourself. You are doing an AWESOME job! Smile

  • Thinking of you!! I hit a wall towards the last few weeks also! I was begging them to admit me from 29w on! With everything that is going on did they consider admitting you, to keep a more watchful eye. To be honest the day I delivered (the day they admitted me for further watch), I finally felt at ease, like they were on top of it for me... I was very lucky I was here too because of my son wrapping the cord tight around his belly and having dsels. It's almost like someone upstairs intervened. Listen to your gut too, and talk to your doctors, sometimes your intuition is right on!

  • You are NOT a wimp! This stuff is hard, and you've got more than the average complications to be dealing with! Not much longer to go, though!!

  • I didn't have as many complications as you have and I still would cry at 33 weeks due to how miserable I felt. I can honestly say now I look back on those times and I think wow, it was really tough but I made it. Like others have said - you're in the home stretch! GL and soon you'll have those precious little ones to hold in your arms :)

  • I'm sorry! I can totally relate! I am beyond miserable. My body hurts. My back hurts non stop, my groin and pelvis hurt, and I can barely walk. I am having a bad day today though :P I can't sleep and I'm exhausted all the time. I also have GD and my babies have been behind in growth so I'm drinking 3 high protein ensures a day (choking them down). Been dealing with pre term labor and it's just all stressful! I keep thinking 36 weeks, 36 weeks, 36 weeks! So close (I will deliver at 37, but at 36 I can deliver at my hospital).
  • You are no wimp dealing with all of that! Hang on, you're so close!
