I have to go on a work trip at the end of April, so in two months. LO is 13 months now, so he'll be 15 months then. He still nurses at night and overnight and early in the morning, although we're working on dropping the overnight now that he's not sick (knock on wood). And we may also drop the morning session soon, too. He really has shown no signs of weaning, though.
I will be out of town for 3 nights.
So if I want to maintain my supply, I'll need to pump (and I'd just dump since he's not drinking expressed milk anymore). But once he's not nursed for three nights, will he want to nurse again? Is it ridiculous to pump to maintain my supply for a 15 month old?
Re: nursing and work trip
Re: your last concern: no, it's not ridiculous. You both benefit from BFing, and if you're both enjoying it then don't let a work trip put a stop to it.
Re: him still wanting to nurse: I'm sure he will. I went on a four day trip when J was 13 months (we had the same nursing schedule you do now), and when I got back it was as if nothing had changed. We went right back to it, and I'm sure your LO will too.
As for what to do--I would probably only pump at night, especially since he's not drinking expressed milk anymore and you don't need the milk.

he may still want it, so I would pump just at night so you can sleep well. and no, not ridiculous at all!
