I've read some, but I was hoping someone could describe what they feel like. I'm getting a hard spot every once in a while and I *think* this might be what I'm feeling. Any thoughts?
Your uterus will feel tight and then release, it is rather uncomfortable and sometimes it will feel like you need to breath more rapidly, which is a good time to practice your breathing anyway. They shouldn't be "painful" until later in the third trimester when they last longer but right now they should only last a couple seconds. Drinking water and changing positions helps. If you have more than 8 in an hour call your doctor...

I'm pretty sure everyone experiences them differently. For me they weren't painful, but for some women they can be. My whole belly got very hard, all the way around to my back. It was just a very tense feeling, but nothing painful.
Thanks ladies. It doesn't even feel like the whole ute, just part of it. It doesn't hurt and only happens for less than 30 seconds a few times a day. I think it might be a little early to have them, so maybe they're just starting? Either that or the baby is just jamming up against the front of me? I mostly noticed it last week when I was laying on my stomach. I'm noticing them when sitting up now. I don't feel like it's anything abnormal. No one ever tells you what they feel like!
Sounds like BH OP. Mine started around 19 weeks (my 2nd time around). My belly hardens and it is slightly uncomfortable for about 10-15 seconds. Sometimes it makes breating a bit difficult. I find they come more often when I am more active-running around with my toddler, celaning involving lots of bending over, etc. Just make sure you are drinking plenty of water.
