Pregnant after a Loss

TIme to lose my rings :(

I think it's official.  My rings are feeling quite tight at the moment...I think it might finally be time to retire them until after LO arrives.  I just hate to do it, I have not taken off my wedding band once since we exchanged rings :(

  • I have costume rings that I have wear now, because my fingers are too big for my wedding set.  I hate that I cant wear them, but I know it's for a good reason.

  • I had to ditch my ring in the middle of the 2nd Trimester.  I used to work in fine jewelry retail and I've cut off one too many rings in my time.  I knew from the get go that the minute my ring felt tight I was taking it off.  So even though it's sad to lose the ring, you're saving yourself problems down the road ;o)

PS. I got a wonderful 3-stone ring from Target for like $14 and it doesn't tarnish or turn my finger green!  Might want to give them a whirl!

  • Aw, sorry. I missed mine when pregnant with DD. DH got me an "extra" ring - a little pink gold one with tiny diamonds - and we fit it to my right hand (bigger than my left), so I could wear it while pregnant on my left, and then on my right later on. It didn't work the whole time, but it worked for quite a while. I also like the Target $14 idea!

This is what I did.  I have a "set" that I got at one of those kiosks in malls...a little more than $14, but its a whole set that doesnt turn my finger green.

ETA: Also, you can go to Walmart and get just a plain wedding band for about $30.

  • Yep... this part was sad.... I feel weird not wearing my wedding set.   I do have a plain silver ring (well it's kinda a design) that I wear if we are going out somewhere, or if I'm out myself but at this point, I figure I'm getting close, so maybe it will fit after LO arrives.

  • I just did this about 2 days ago. & it made me really sad too.. DH keeps suggesting that we get me a "pregnancy" band. We'll see.

  • I am getting really close to this stage.  By the end of the day I often take my rings off just to be sure they don't get stuck. I think I will pick out a "fake" band if this happens.

  • I went back to Kays where we got my wedding rings and purchased a 10k white gold band to wear.  I just couldn't go without a ring and DH knows that everything under the sun turns my finger green!

  • This was almost me a few days ago, but luckily my fingers went back to normal. I have always planned that if I have to take mine off I'll get a nice necklace to put them on, and then get a cheap ring (that hopefully keeps it from getting green) like the one suggested above.
