I will find out in two days if my IVF cycle worked and if not, DH and I are going to pursue adoption. Has anyone adopted in the Raleigh area? Any recommendations for reputable agencies? I've been looking at Amazing Grace Adoptions.
Thank you!
Married Since 09/2006, TTC Since 09/2010
DX: Unexplained infertility, DH normal
3 Femara cycles - Oct, Nov, Dec 2011, all BFNs
IVF #1, ER 2/15 (5R, 4M, 4F), ET 2/18, Beta 2/29 = BFN
Follistim + IUI on 6/25 = BFN
Home Study Finalized 8/14/12! Profile Active - 8/17/12!
Officially Matched 8/29/12, Our perfect angel born 9/25/12!
I know nothing about them but their website turns me off immediately when I see this:
? Plan to provide full-time maternal care once a placement is made.
Please know this last requirement is not meant to be rigid. Families
have been very creative in this area. The heart of this requirement is
that the parents be the primary caregivers, rather than a daycare
worker.
Sounds pretty judgmental and downright assholish for families where both parents work. And the fact that they want a stay at home MOTHER specifically? Yeah. Major turnoff for me.
(This could be irrelevant to your situation entirely, but I wouldn't work with an organization like that even if I were going to be SAH.)
ETA: Further reading leads me to their statement of faith and I couldn't sign it.
We are working with the Independent Adoption Center. They are licensed in several states but have an office in Raleigh. They are a non-profit agency and have very ethical practices.
That is great, I was just talking to one of their representatives. GL!
If you have any questions about them, I don't mind answering if I can!
That would be great. I have my beta tomorrow and if it's negative, we'll be trying to get into the seminar this Saturday to learn more about IAC. If we go that route, I may send you a private message. Thanks!

We live in NY but are thinking very strongly about going with IAC after reading/hearing about them. If we do we'll be going to the Raleigh office for our seminar.
