If you are plus sized and pg with twins

When did you start to show? Just curious...... I am overweight and am 11 weeks.  I'm just noticing my clothes getting snug.  Just wondering your experiences are! Thank you!

Re: If you are plus sized and pg with twins

  • I think I started showing around that time.  By 8 - 10 weeks I couldn't get most of pants to button.  Around 12 weeks I looked pregnant, by 18 I looked REALLY pregnant, and now at almost 27 weeks I'm getting the 'are you due any day' comments.  Fun times, lol!  I know you didn't ask, but as a plus sized woman I recommend getting several cute dresses.  They are a lot easier to find and a lot more comfortable than pants!  Old Navy online is awesome!  Good luck.

  • I was about 30 lbs. overweight when I got pregnant. My clothes started feeling snug around 9 or 10 weeks, and I started wearing maternity pants around 13 weeks because they were sooooo much more comfortable. My friends claimed that I started to look pregnant around that time, but I didn't believe them and just chalked it up to bloating and the stomach fat getting pushed forward. :)  Now at 15 weeks it's pretty undeniable that I have a big bump going on and that uterus definitely has something to do with it!

  • you can see my pics in my bio. i have a v long torso and am tall, so that probably has something to do with the fact that i didn't really show until 20+ weeks.

  • I was a 12/14 pre-pregnancy and didn't really show until 16-17 weeks or so. I just looked chunky.

  • I'm also very tall, and although my clothes were tight and I started wearing maternity pants much earlier, I didn't look noticeably pregnant until about 25 weeks.
  • I'm tall and plus size and I didn't really start showing until 20 weeks or so!

  • I was a size 14 pre pregnancy and while I was wearing a bella band very early (like 6-8 weeks) for bloat, I was not really showing until 13-14 weeks. I agree with the dress suggestion too! Way more comfortable than pants! :)

  • this was my second pregnancy, but I had a visible bump around 12 weeks.  At 20 weeks I looks like I did at 30 weeks with my first baby.

  • I am tall (5'9"), was about 40 lbs over weight when I got pregnant and wore a size 16/18 (from Torrid). This was my first pregnancy but I still started complaining about my jeans feeling tight around 10 weeks and gave up and went to maternity clothes around 12 weeks. I was noticably showing by 15 weeks. I never could find any cute plus size maternity dresses that were long enough for me, so I went to The Avenue (they seem to have cuter dressy clothes in the bigger plus sizes) and I got leggings and size 22/24 tops to grow into. It was a great plan for me. Oh and I lived in flip flops the last trimester.

  • Thanks for the advice ladies!  I've been having a hard day filled with anxiety about this pregnancy.  I just desperately want to make sure that everything is going well and the LO's are ok.  I guess that I just have to wait until my appointment next week when I'm 12 weeks. Sorry for the post and run earlier.  I've been in a training session all day long.
