Might not be able to do DE mock cycle...so upset :(

I'm ready to scream. I wrote a post on fri saying I got a call from RE that since I have to do a follow up mamm in 6 months I might not be able to start my mock which would be this week. I was a wreck all weekend waiting for today.

This morning I called DE coord and she was just snippy with me so I got snippy back. Said her hands are tyed and for me to call my gyn. All morning I'm calling people, faxing people, and driving to clinic to get my mamm results to fax to gyn. Nurse said dr would approve but my results say back in 6 months and I have a Category 3 written next to findings. This is not good. Even though they found NOTHING they don't want me on Estrogen until I have my follow up.

I just got comfortable with spending $ and being 44 now this. I'm just devasted. 6 months might not seem alot of time to wait but for me it is. I hate my age :(

Thanks for listening. Don't know who else to cry too :(

ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

Oh I am so sorry for you-- how frustrating! And what the heck is wrong with people who work with women TTC-- why would you get snippy with someone who is clearly on edge already, facing health issues, and looking at an uphill battle to do what every drunken teenager seems to be able to do at the drop of a dime?!?

I'm glad you got snippy back-- if only to make you feel better!

So, vent away-- I'll listen! I didn't think being 37 was going to make a huge difference (I don't FEEL 37, so...? LOL) but it apparently has, so now I have to switch gears and get used to this taking longer. But knowing that other women are having babies in their 40s makes me feel better about my own situation.

Hang in there! 6 months will go by-- and maybe they'll change their minds and let you only wait 3 months or something?

Becky- can you get insurance to approve a breast MRI?  I have a breast MRI alternating with a mamm every 6 months as I am high risk. Clearly, I've been on a ton of estrogen having done 3 IVF cycles. I was cleared to cycle without a problem. What was in your last mamm?

Boy, you so deserve a break.  You recognized that you age was a huge piece of the problem, and choose to head straight to DE.  I admit that I did not understand that decision when you made it, but now that I'm there-I sometimes wish that I had cut to the chase and gone that way myself.  Would see if a breast MRI, might make these stupid people happy.  I had my very last IVF with my OE almost cancelled because of a need for additional images.  They sure do everything that they can to put roadblocks up for women over 40 that are trying to cycle.  I will be praying that you accidentally find yourself with a much unexpected BFP during your wait.  Then, the clinic looses out on all your money (little bonus for them, big bonus for you!)  I am sorry that you are so upset, remember that it's ultimately only months and not years.  None of us is getting any younger, and it just sucks!!

    ((((hugs))))

That sounds so frustrating.  I have no advice, but I hope you get to move on to your mock cycle sooner rather than later.

Oh, Becky, this all just sucks.  I feel like I'm partially to blame for getting your hopes up since I encouraged you to go for it.

I still say don't give up, and fight for your chance!

Cry all you want. I'm crying with frustration with my RE's office this evening too.

I have no advice about your specific roadblock, but I'd say Don't give up because of this.
