We had our first specialist appointment with Maternal Fetal Medicine..
they confirmed my bicornuate uterus, and sort of set us on a path
forward.. basically, it just means that we'll be extra carefully
monitored.. the Dr was very knowledgeable and warm, so that was helpful.
We did talk about my Papp-A levels being low, and how that could
indicate a baby with low birth weight.. that, in addition to our high
risk for pre-term labor is quite nerve wracking.. baby born early plus
low birth weight could mean some difficulties.. but, again, the Dr was
very thorough and will be keeping a close eye on us for any signs of
early labor.. we'll be having ultrasounds every few weeks, in addition
to growth scans and cervix checks.. she said that will be the biggest
marker, if we see signs of the cervix shrinking.. right now, all looks
well, so that's great!
The ultrasound itself was amazing!! LO was flipping all around and being SUPER adorable
We even saw the baby putting it's hand in it's mouth.. how cute!!!
Measured perfect -- especially considering the low Papp-A levels! U/S
tech said we're already at ~7 ounces, which is great, considering we
were 17wk4d
The tech WAS able to determine the gender!! Which, was SUPER difficult
for us to not have her tell us!!! Instead, we asked her to write it down
for us, and put it in a sealed envelope, which we then delivered to our
bakery and had ourselves a gender cake made!! Basically, depending on
the sex of the baby, the baker would put either pink or blue icing
INSIDE the middle of the cake, so when we cut into it and took out a
slice, we'd be able to see if it was a boy or girl!! We thought this
would be a super great way to all find out together.. and be able to
incorporate both of our families
  Sooooo.. for the results ![]()
We are TEAM...

Team BLUE!!! We are SO excited to be expecting a baby boy!!! Absolutely flooded with emotion!! Now, FX that everything goes well over the next 5 months, and we're able to escape the PTL scene so that we can welcome this precious little bundle of joy into our lives forever!!!
Gosh.. I am so in love already
Really.. just finding out the gender, and seeing him on that screen again.. it's all so real now!!!
