It's no big surprise here that DD's favorite is Cinderella. Apparently at daycare, all-things-princess are a big deal. So I checked out the movie from the library and she loved it.
We also watched Madagascar one night. I really like that movie since it's adult-friendly and kid-friendly. It wasn't like DD was totally into it but she watched it with me. I'd like to have more ideas of movies like this that we can occasionally watch together as a family.
Princess wise Tangled is really good and enjoyable for the whole family and I enjoy the music in Princess and the Frog (there is one scary part but my kids don't seem to be scared easily and with DVD's skipping scary parts is easy). Enchanted is nice with some animation and some real life action - also nice music and if you like looking at Patrick Dempsey. - that was the first full-length movie to hold Maggie's attention.
Non princess fare - Bolt is really cute and I DVR'ed that a few months ago and both kids still like it. They also like the Incredible's, a little more violent with the hitting and stuff but the girls don't seem to like mimic it in any way on each other (again every kid is different with that too) similarly Kung Fu Panda but that is more Maggie who enjoys it so maybe a little older.
Toy Story is also nice for the younger set, although TS3 makes me cry (in a good way). I think Woody does use the word stupid at some point, but again my kids obviously don;t pay close attention to things like that and it has never been an issue here.
DD loves Rio and Tangled right now (and some random Christmas Nutcracker Barbie movie she got as a Christmas present...)
I just bought her the 1987 liveaction version of Cinderella - with Whitney Houston, Bernadette Peters, and Brandy. LOL. Mostly because I'm curious, and also because I think it would be nice for her to watch the multicultural cast. It's supposed to come in the mail tomorrow.... I'll let you know how it is. I'm sure it's cheesy, but will probably have some good music in it.
Re: QOTD: What is your kid's favorite movie?

My DD has seen very few movies and likes almost all we show her.
However, I felt like she really took to Toy Story. And I love the messages in those movies too.
