North Metro Daycare Help

DH and I thought we were done finding our daycare but due to some circumstances, it looks like we may be looking for a new daycare plan.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good daycare, either in home or a center, open to either, in the areas of Blaine, Roseville, Shoreview, etc?

Check out Jack and Jill - they have locations in both Roseville and Blaine. We had a bad experience at Creative Kids in Mounds View and I would not recommend them at all.

Try Sunrise Christian Daycare & Preschool in Moundsview, off 10 and Cty Rd I. Small, low kid to teacher ratio, you get one week vacation per year where you don't have to pay for your spot even if your kid is gone (they also allow you to remove your older child during a maternity leave w/o paying to keep the spot) and the teachers love the kids. The two infant teachers have been there for forever. The center also provides formula (if needed), wipes and solid food once the kids get to that point. Both DDs went there and I had a great experience.

I have a couple friends who have their kids at Minneapple Montessori in Roseville (off of hwy 36 and Fairview). Staff has been very stable and they've been very happy. We were originally going to go there but changed due to cost/flexibility issues. I think full time infant is around $320/week?

We visited Jack and Jill in St. Anthony. The infant room was waaaay too chaotic for us. LOTS of crying babies. I think they technically had enough staff, but there were babies everywhere and not enough arms to feed those hungry babies all at the same time. We were turned off by all the babies left crying on the floor. But it might just have been a bad time to be there.

David's Christian Learning Center is in Columbia Heights (just off University and 42nd St). DCLC is in a Lutheran Church (St. Matthew). The staff there are very loving and flexible. They offer full and part time options. Our LO loves it there.

We also toured Children's Discovery Academy in Maplewood and really liked it. They were close to the $320/week cost at the time as well (this was a year ago now).

Ugh, I'm sorry your daycare fell through!

Out of the centers we looked at we liked Sunrise Christian Daycare in Mounds View the best. I've worked in centers before and this one isn't as "fancy" looking as others, but I liked that they kept their teacher/child ratio lower than the state mandates. Many of the teachers have been there awhile and seemed really great with the kids as well. The director also seemed really flexible in meeting our needs and being flexible with my schedule as a teacher.

Could you please tell me how much the Sunrise Christian Daycare is for infants?

Thank you for all of the referrals and ideas. I have written them down and DH and I will be looking into them very soon to see if they could be a possibility for us. I appreciate the help!
