Hi guys! I'm coming from 3T/IF with a question. We are going to do IVF with ICSI soon, but we are confused what plan we are going to do (single cycle, multiple package, etc) so I am coming here to hopefully get some kind of statistical help. I am torn between the 1 fresh/1 frozen cycle & the 2 fresh/2 frozen cycle. We had originally planned on doing the 2, but the more I think about it, I am leaning toward the 1. If I go get pregnant on 1st shot, then I am out all the $$, either case if I get pregnant & have a c/p, etc I can then do the frozen cycle (if I have frozen embies) So my question for the PCOS ladies

 

How many eggs were retrieved?

How many were mature?

How may did you have to freeze?

04/07/11- PCOS Diagnosis w/GYN. Put on Metformin (1500 mgs)
04/25/11- 1st consultation with RE (Confirmed PCOS & Anovulation)
05/09/11-HSG-All clear! 05/13/11-SA-Normal. Found out on 2/14/12, low Morph (1%).
06/17/11-10 days of Clomid (100, 150) No response.
07/10/11-03/20/12- 5 Injectable (Follistim) IUI cycles; 4 BFN, 1 C/P. (stims ranged from 11 days to 25 days)
05/28/12-Diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. 75 mcg Synthroid.

IVF with ICSI in June/July 2013 = BFP!. Beta # 1 = 123. Beta # 2 = 252. Due March 25th. Baby boy arrived March 27, 2013!

FET #1 - 10/4/14 = BFP!! Beta #1 = 179. Beta # 2 = 499. Due June 22nd.

    first time I had 38 eggs retrieved (yikes!), twenty something mature,  I think only about 20 fertilized, 2 went in on day three, and only three made it to freeze. second fresh cycle, 18 retrieved, 11 mature, 10 fertilized, 2 went in on day three again and only one made it to freeze.

    Not currently TTC.
    DD born August 2012 via IVF. HoH, aided, ASL/spoken English.

    I had 16 retrieved and all were mature. They did ICSI on all and only 11 fertilized. Only one of those made it to the blasocyst stage. We transferred the only blastocyst and a morula and nothing made it to freeze. We are now pregnant with twins.

    13 eggs retrieved, all mature.  12 fertilized with ICSI. 2 Transferred and 6 frozen.

    How many were mature? 21

    How may did you have to freeze? 13

    We did a shared risk program, a success gurantee, where we are guranteed to take home a baby surviving past 72 hours. If not we qualify for 2 rounds for IVF and the transfer of all embryos resulting from the 2 rounds of IVF. My hubby had the same concern, and felt like we were gambling with our future, but now that we are pregnant, its worth every penny we are "out". The cost of 1 round of IVF and 1 FET is about $5600 less than we paid, but we are not out of the woods, and though we are hopefull you never know how things are going to go. And you never know how many eggs, or embryos you will get. And how many will survive thawing if necessary....

    Do what you think will give you the best results, and the rest is in the past!


    Started TTC in 2006, LOTS of trying, and trying, and 7 rounds of IVF with 13 embryos, 2 perfect little boys and 5 loses....
    All finished with babies, started to make diet changes, Keto, to be MORE for my kids, lost 30 pounds, still going, and 3 months in, I had a natural cycle, and then ovulated... Hubs and I are going to see what happens now... Maybe a natural pregnancy? After everything we have been through? Or just a return to normal hormones? We shall see what the future holds!

    23 eggs retrieved and all 23 were mature. 19 fertilized on their own. We transferred 1 embie and we have 5 snowbabies. Good luck!

    IVF #1: 4-11-11= Transferred 1 beautiful blastocyst I named "Nugget"
    5 Snowbabies! Beta#1 4/21= BFP! 226; Beta#2 4/25= 944

    IVF #1 = 14 retrieved/12 mature/nothing to freeze (BFN)

    IVF #2 = 15 retrieved/14 mature/nothing to freeze (BFN)

    IVF #3 = 27 retrieved/27 mature/1 to freeze (BFP)

    We did IVF-ICSI for all 3 IVF cycles.  I personally wouldn't count on having embryos to freeze - no one I know with PCOS has ever had frosties until I got 1 this cycle.

    We have 44 retrieved, 39 were mature and only 8 fertilized.  Something about proteins and attraction between sperm/egg.  We did the shared risk program, which I was thankful for as we were not successful on the fresh round.  We were successful on our first FET.  Both embies stuck and we had twins, until one of them gave out this week.  The other is still with us and we're very hopeful.  We have 2 snowbabies.

    Ivf#1 21 retrieved 18 mature 9 fertilized Put in 2- miscarriage 2 frozen got pg and miscarriage again Ivf 2- 25 retrieved 15 mature 15 fertilized. Put in 2 preg with 1. 3 snowbabies.
