Uncircumcised Potty Training

Hi kids. This is my first post here, but I thought you all might have some useful info. We found out last week we are having a little boy. I'm not looking to get into the circ/DON'T circ debate. To each his own. We have decided we will not circumcise our son and I'm just wondering what that means for potty training. Like does it spray everywhere or do you have to have them pull the skin back a little to pee? Thoughts? Experience? Advice? Thanks!

(Yes, yes, I realize I'm thinking about this ridiculously early, but I get obsessed with things and have to see them through and seek out my answers!)

I don't know... my son is circ'd and recently PTd. I watch a kid who is 16 months old and PTd and NOT circ'd and I worry far less about him spraying all over the place than my son- who's almost 1.5 yrs older. Could be the age, dunno. His mom has given me no special instructions, so I just plunk him on and he goes.

No there is no difference in PTing a circumcised vs uncircumcised boy. DS is not circumcised and doesn't spray at all, he always makes sure to hold his penis down to point into the potty, but that would be useful for any little boy.

as for pulling the skin back....they pee in their diaper just fine without doing anything with the foreskin, it's no different once potty trained. In fact, my Dr has advised that we never pull the skin back and just let it retract naturally (such as when he has an erection).

My 3 yo DS is uncirc'ed and fully PT and there isn't anything special or different you have to do. You do not need to pull the skin back to pee and the peeing everywhere is a problem for all boys regardless of whether they are circed or not. We had him sit on the potty in the beginning to learn and then once he had that mastered we taught him he could stand. You just need to teach them to aim and shoot

DS is not circ'ed and potty trained at 25 months. He does not spray and he doesn't have to pull the skin back. I run a home daycare and I potty train kiddos a lot and I have to say that little boys that are not circ'ed seem to have better "aim." The skin keeps the urine going in one direction. :-)
