I know they are needed to keep a good check on us and our LOs, but I'm getting tired of them. Seems like I wait forever for a 10 minute appt and doc doesn't really discuss anything with me yet. Anyone else feeling like this?
My OB doesn't do growth u/s. Don't think they are that common in my neck of the woods.
I've been going weekly since week 20 for my progesterone shots. While inconvenient, I like that every week I have a chance to ask questions, etc. I also like that they are able to keep a close eye on my BP which went very quickly from super to sucky with my DS's pregnancy.
I love them just for the chance to hear her little heartbeat! They can be inconvenient to leave work all the time but worth it!
As far as growth u/s I am not too sure. I was just diagnosed with gd so I have a feeling some are in my future but before the diagnosis I had not expected another u/s this pregnancy. With my first 2 kids I had 2 u/s....a dating u/s and an a/s. that's it!
Don't worry it just gets worst as you move onto appointments biweekly then weekly, then sometimes multiple times a week... it gets old quick! But be thankful for quick appointments that means things are going well

I'm super tired of it. I've been going bi-weekly since I was 16 weeks because I had a cerclage placed at 14 weeks, so it got really old, really fast. So many people get to look forward to their monthly appointments, and I'm just over it... plus going every two weeks means that's twice as many times I have to get on their stupid scale! I know it's good that my baby gets checked on so often, but it wears me out.
I've also noticed that I'm really emotional on days of my appointments. BLAH.
I agree that a lot of the time I feel like the appointments are kind of rushed feeling, but I still look forward to every single one to hear my baby's heartbeat and find out what the next steps are!
Bi-weekly is already a little annoying, but I do like hearing the heartbeat and I can't complain about having easy appointments. Weekly is going to feel nuts, but I bring a book, so I think of it as a mini-morning vacay away from work. Soon those quiet moments in the waiting room will be a fond memory once the LO is here!

I am SO sick of my appointments already. I have a new doctor this time around (in the same practice as my first two pregnancies) and she's overly cautious about everything. I know it's all to be sure that the baby is OK, but I honestly want to say... I'll skip the appointments and just meet you at the hospital in a couple of months.
It especially stinks when I get a $100+ charge from the billing office for EVERY 10 minute appointment. :-/
Oh yes, those fabulous co-pays. You've got a point there. I wonder why they make us come in so darn much? I guess they're just making sure the baby grows and there's no signs of complications. Seems like it would be easier to send my vitals in by email once a week.
Also, I don't have any more tests (other than the strep b one), so no more ultrasounds unless something's up for the rest of the pregnancy (last one was a/s at 20w). Again, good fortune is hardly something to complain about, so I should probably take my 1.5 hour long appointment where I actually see my doc for :5 and run with it while I can.

Agreed. It's a little annoying to listen to the OB say that he doesn't want to send me for an U/S (when I was having problems) because the insurance doesn't recommend them, but he can have me going every 2 weeks for a 5 min apt (started at 26 weeks) just to check my bp and tell me that, "you probably remember it all from last time" as he slides out of the room. If he's so worried about not frauding the insurance company, maybe we could have monthly apts until 32-34-36 weeks. I find them completely unnecessary especially when each concern I do bring up he quickly dismisses!
I'm excited for my next Appt because I was finally referred to an ob and I'm excited to start asking all these relevant l&d questions etc I've been holding onto.
not looking forward to moving to biweekly and weekly appts though because it's an hour's drive to the hospital...on the brightside our tax people told dh I could claim the mileage on next year's taxes.
Nevermind me, I'm too distracted by my mini-carrots to think properly

P.S. Clearly I'm having trouble with my new OB!
