Has anyone had success after IUI?

I am not part of this baord yet, but hopefully will be soon enough... my husband is azoo and I have a fibroid blocking my right tube, which will be removed on tuesday.I should also note that I have a few small ovarian cysts, but I still ovulate normally every month and am pain free except where the fibroid is, and my left tube is clear. .. we are looking to go ahead with IUI and donor sperm, has anyone had success with IUI and a donor and if so, how many rounds did it take?

    IUI never worked for us, we did three tries with donor sperm. But our first donor sperm IVF did work. But there are many gals who were successful with IUI. We just didnt want to try more than three because of the cost and our age. Lots of luck to you.

    Three of my five IUIs were successful.  The first two resulted in c/p though.

    IUI was a waste if time for me, my right tube is blocked. IVF worked first time!

    Yes! My DH has azoo (sertoli only cell). We did Follistim and Ovidrel. The 4th donor iui worked. I have no issues. However, next.time, I feel, my age will be a factor.
    ttc since 10-09 first visit with RE 09-10 ME-everything ok DH- AZOOSPERMIA...biopsy confirmed Sertoli Only Cell syndrome Donor IUI#4 was the charm (8-27-11) with 125iuFollistim/Ovidrel/Endometrin/PIO/vit D beta #1 9/8/11....BFP!!! : ) @ 47.7 beta...#2 9/15/11... 1,998 beta#3 9/22/2011- 27,900 Baby's hb seen @6w2d ! 1-3-2012 20 wk u/s everything lookin' good!     DH had azoo too, and I have PCOS.  Our 1st IUI cycle was a success (with DH's sperm too...yes, with proper meds he got up to a normal count).  My cycle included:  BCPs, metformin, letrozole, LOTS of menopur, trigger shot, and progestrone.

    Just so you know, meds will not work for every azoo patient, nor surgery. I am glad it did for you though. :)

    I agree with Mandalinn. My DH has true azoo. No sperm. Never had any. He was born sterile. A biopsy confirmed it was SCO.

    I would actually prefer my husband never reach a normal count if he has to go through biopsies and meds and stuff, I've pretty much already accepted that azoo will bar us from having our own bio kid together. The reason we aren't doing IVF is because we don't have enough money saved to do it at $6000 a round (in Canada) whereas, we could afford to do IUI a few times at like $600 a round. We were planning on three tries... I'm just glad to hear it worked for some people!

    Oh I know not all azoos are the same.  I'm not ignorant to that at all.  I was just giving our dxs and saying what worked.  DH's azoo is due to hypogonadism, and he did have absolutely 0 sperm at the beginning.  Thankfully it could be treated with LOTS of hormone injections, including FSH.

    March/April 2011 - 150mg Clomid + Ovidrel + TI = BFN
    May 2011 & June 2011 - 150mg Clomid = No Response
    July 2011 - Gonal-F + Ovidrel + IUI#1(8/1/11)= BFN
    August 2011 - Gonal-F + Ovidrel + IUI#2 (8/30/11)=BFN
    September 2011 - BREAK NEEDED DUE TO ENLARGED OVARIES :(
    October 2011 - Gonal-F + Ovidrel + IUI#3 (10/23/11) = BFP!!
    Beta#1(11/7/11)=250 Beta#2(11/9/11)=487 Beta#3(11/17/11)=6500
