Mom's Groups in Wichita

Hi, I'm fairly new to Wichita and I've been unable to meet many moms and really need to reconnect with people.  I've tried joining groups thru meetup.com but have had no luck (they haven't responded and it's been about 2 weeks now).  Any suggestions or information??

Re: Mom's Groups in Wichita

  • i know the feeling(sorta). ive lived in halstead(45 min away) my whole life but i think it would be nice to get into a group. i know my sister(who has 3 kids under the age of 5) does parents as teachers. its a neat group where every once in awhile parents all get together with their children to learn and talk. the program teaches some pretty helpful stuff on top of showing parents how to make extremely cheap toys that are safe for little ones. but im a first time mom myself so its a learning (and searching) experiance

  • Looks like this is a pretty old thread, but I thought I'd reply anyway. I just moved to Haysville & don't know anyone so I'm in the same boat as you. I have a 2 year old son (well, almost 3. His birthday is in August) & have just become a SAHM so after we get settled here I'm thinking I will start checking out story times at the library & things like that to try to meet other moms.
  • Story time at the library is very fun and also look up the parents as teachers in your area! I'm new to the area too and dont know many people, so I hope I can meet other stay at home moms soon! We are south Wichita, little north of derby.

  • The baby boutiques in Wichita frequently have play groups open to everyone. Sweet Cheeks has theirs at 10 on Thursday mornings, I think. There are also active baby wearing, breastfeeding and (soon) mothers of multiples groups. A lot of info is shared through their Facebook pages. The Wichita and Derby libraries have good summer programs for kids of all ages, and I've met some moms that way. Check out their websites for info.
