Last week was kind of rough with LO because she was kind of super fussy during the day, and gassy and cranky at night, and my FI worked long hours leaving me on my own to deal with the stress. On top of that, he hurt his back and was complaining like a baby and while I have been dealing with back issues since I was 15 and just had major surgery 3 weeks ago, my sympathy meter was on E. Well he finally went to the chiro, and he had a twisted vertabrae (now I felt a little bad lol), but he got fixed up thank goodness. Well our couch seemed to be part of the culprit since he slept on it 2 nights (LO was up screaming in our room) and they are not in the best shape after 5 years. So I decided that it was time to find some new furniture.
We went out looking for a living room set Saturday morning. We found one that we loved, but it was more than we wanted to pay. FI used his "salesman negotiation skills" and got the price pretty low, but still more than I wanted to pay. So we left, sad because there was only one more store to check. Well, we had the evening to look forward to because my mom and dad offered to watch LO for us so we could go have a date nite
For anyone that remembers my falling out with my mom after LO was born, this has been a big deal. She has done a 180, and although we never talked about what happened, she has been super helpful, but not overbearing in her usual controlling way. I'm really happy she has come around, although my FI is still hesitant and thinks that she may be a brat again (which may happen, that's my mom for you).
So we dropped off LO, and went to Act of Valor (GREAT movie for anyone wondering) and then to a nice dinner and split a bottle of wine
The furniture store had called and left a message during the movie and said that they wanted to try and make a deal and get our business. We went back again, but the price still wasn't right. BUT, my mom called and said that she would keep LO overnight for us so we could have a good nights sleep! I took her some more formula on the way home, gave my baby a kiss goodnight, and cried lol. I was so upset leaving her overnight, even though I knew she was fine. (Please tell me it gets easier!) Mom just said be back by 9, I was there at 8 lol.
Next day, I stayed at my parent's for a few hours and mom said she would keep her while we ran errands (thanks!) so we went to the last furniture store, found the exact same set we loved for UNDER the price I wanted to pay...SCORE! We have to wait a few weeks for it to come in, but we are soooo excited. And for dinner, I found a recipe for PF Changs Mongolian Beef and it came out perfect (I am no cook by any means).
Just had to share my great weekend
I really needed it after these stressful 4 weeks.
