Hi ladies!
My husband is in the military, so we will be moving to the Montgomery area in early August, and I am due in late September. My son was born 5.5 weeks early so the timing of our move makes me a little nervous! I am trying to do some research about local hospitals online, but was hoping that one of you might share your experiences with delivering at any of the local places. Or even stories from a friend who lives there!
Thanks so much for your opinions.
Re: Best hospital for delivery in Montgomery?
I grew up in Montgomery and both my and DH's parents still live there so we drive down there often. From my experience, I would recommend Baptist East. The facilities there are newer and they have a NICU onsite.
My FIL had his second open heart surgery at Jackson Hospital last fall and we were less than impressed. While my MIL and BIL were there visiting, there was a shooting nearby and they had the hospital temporarily on lock down (as in, nobody in or out). Jackson is not really in the best part of town.
Maybe someone will have specific experiences to share, but if I still lived in Montgomery I'd definitely pick Baptist East.
BFP#2: 9/25/11 M/C 6 weeks 5 days (CP) 10/13/11
BFP#3: 12/23/11 Progesterone started 12/29/11 Stick, baby, stick!
Awesome!
Thank you all so very much for taking the time to reply. You all confirmed my instincts after doing a little internet research on my own.
