Our baby boy was born on Tuesday at 37 weeks 2 days.
Went to the doctor Monday morning for high blood pressure monitoring. It was still elevated so the doctor said we needed to induce. I was shocked and not very pleased at the idea but she assured me he would be fine and if my bp got any worse it would be bad for both of us.
We arrive at the hospital at 6pm and ate dinner and got checked in. At 7pm they gave me my first pill to soften my cervix. They hooked me up to the monitors and I was already contracting every 6 minutes on my own and didn't even know it. At 9 pm we walked the halls and then I got an ambien to help me sleep. At 12am they came in and gave me a second pill and that really got things going! At 4am I was 4 cm and they gave me an epi before giving me pitocin. By 6 am I was 8 cm so they called the dr to break my water. After she broke my water it was about 2 contractions and I was at 10!
I pushed for about 2 hours and he was here!  He flipped his head when he was coming out so I had to have an episiotmoy.
He was also born with the cord around his neck so his first apgar was only a 5.  He's doing better every day.  He has jaundice but it's getting better and he is slowly gaining back his weight.  He only weighed 6 pounds at birth and now is back up to 5lbs 13oz.  Preemie clothes are even big on him but he has a full head of hair and is 21 inches long!
I was petrified of labor and I can honestly say it's not that bad. I even told dh I kind of regretted getting an epi because I think I could have done it w/o one. Thank you ladies for a great 9 months. I rarely posted on here but I loved reading all your posts and for the help you provided when I did post. Good luck with your deliveries!

It was in the 130/90 range and I had a couple readings over 100 on the bottom. I didn't think it was exceptionally high but my dr said the real concern was it kept getting worse despite me resting.
