Things have gotten much better, not perfect, but much better. DH went and got the Happiest Toddler on the Block that night at B&N, and boy have those techniques worked. I am very grateful for that. We have also cut way down on his TV time. He never watched that much to begin with, but with him acting up, it was sometimes easier to just give US a time-out by putting the TV on, but I think that it was actually making things worse.
Also, DH and I had a date night on Thursday, which was much needed. The best part was we had to wait 2 hours for a table (which sounds like a drag but...), it gave us time to actually sit and talk, uninterrrupted, while still awake, and it was so nice. It also gave us time to get super hungry for the all you can eat crab legs/clams. Yes, not HLG, but definitely worth it!
Re: F/U to one of those days....
I'll have to remember this book...I'm sure we'll need it someday.
And it is so nice to hear you got to recharge the batteries with your DH! Date nights are so few and far between.
I am glad things are better for you! I think I need to re-read Happiest Toddler. I read it originally when Eve was like 13 months and an angel in comparison to now...I have a few other books I have been meaning to read too.
m/c 1/2/08 and 3/12/08
Eve Amelia- Born 2/24/09. 6lb 9.9oz
Natalie Ruth - Born 6/13/11 7lb 6.6oz
I think I need to read a copy of HTOTB. Evan has really given us no "terrible twos", so I have a feeling it is going to backfire and 3 will be a trying age!
Glad you and your DH got a night out! Those date nights are so important to reconnect as a couple. I think DH and I are in need of one... we do get out a lot, but lately it's always w/ groups of our friends at loud bars or sporting events. A romantic dinner is much needed!
