40 weeks and only cm dilated :(

So I went to my dr. appt on Friday and I was only "a fingertip" dilated.  I'm freaking out since my time is almost up and I really don't want to be induced.  I will be going again to get checked on Wednesday...is there any hope that I'll be more open by then? I need some hope...has anyone dilated a few cm's within a week?

 Dr. said i might deliver next friday, does that mean he will want to induce me? eek.

Can't wait for baby to be here!

    The day before I gave birth I was only a finger tip. 6am the next morning my water broke. Hang in there!

    Thursday she couldn't even check me because my cervix was so posterior.  As we speak, I am having strong contractions every 6 1/2 minutes.

    Boiler- wow, hang in there...maybe your time is up :D

       Hang in there! With our first daughter, I was having slight progress week to week, but nothing to make anyone think I was close to delivering. I went to bed on 9/17/07 like it was any other night and woke up 9/18/07 in LABOR (no denying it, even though I tried)! :) We welcomed DD#1 at 11:48 p.m. on 9/18/07 (her EDD). :) Best of luck to you!

    At my 40 week appointment I was only 1cm and 50% effaced.  I went into labor that night.  You never know...

    Chiming in with a similar experience. Feb 1 was my due date. Barely dilated. Went into labor the next night! And no gradual increase of contractions. Almost immediately went to every 5 minutes. Hang in there! :)
