Basically, whenever I lie down to nap/sleep, my restless leg syndrome starts up TERRIBLY - and then of course, I think about it and get annoyed, which just makes it worse.
I usually get up and walk/stretch, but that isn't doing the trick.
Anyone else experience this and have a tried & true remedy??
Re: Awful Restless Leg Syndrome - any ideas?
I had RLS before I got pregnant, and it's been constant since day 1 of my pregnancy. Due to the severity of it, my doctor prescribed some medication for me. It's not the most ideal situation, but without it...I would never sleep, ever. It's that bad. And it's getting worse now that I hit the third trimester...ugh.
Anyway, since I've had this for almost 20 years now, I've read a ton about it. For RLS due to pregnancy, sometimes increasing folic acid and magnesium helps. Increasing the dosage for them doesn't do a thing for me, but it might for you. Hope this helps!
I'm lucky to have avoided this symptom so far but several women in my prenatal yoga class have complained about it. Our instructor suggests the 'Legs Up the Wall' pose. I've done the pose for other stretching (though without the back pillow pictured) and like it. Others say it's somewhat helpful for RLS.
